Craig Ferguson fans might be interested to know he has a podcast called “Joy”. He basically just interviews friends and people he likes. I find it interesting.

Craig is great because he managed to avoid becoming the type of vanilla milquetoast host that normally occurs after gaining some success.

The Late Show will Stephen Colbert to end in May 2026

https://twitter.com/user/status/1945988233306718392

Quote:
Colbert addressed the audience from the Late Show desk, telling them: “I want to let you know something that I found out just last night. Next year will be our last season. The network will be ending the Late Show in May.” The audience, of course, loudly booed this news, and Colbert wryly replied, “Yeah, I share your feelings.”

Colbert added that the entire Late Show franchise is ending as well: “I’m not being replaced. This is all just going away. I do want to say that the people at CBS have been great partners. I’m so grateful to the Tiffany Network for giving me this chair and this beautiful theater to call home.” Colbert also thanked his loyal audience and his house band, “and I am extraordinarily grateful to the 200 people who work here. We get to do this show for each other, all day, every day.”

Interesting. Colbert has been taking shots at CBS for settling Trumps’s no merit nuisance case vs 60 Minutes. Was just nominated for an Emmy too. He is talented enough to land somewhere else.

Seth lost his late night band.

Late night shows not making $?

Is this why we never see or hear from Cleto on Kimmel?

The next to go will be 60 Minutes.

The news division Edward R. Murrow built.

Seth gets over 2 million views for his Closer Look and other segments on YouTube, but his TV ratings are in the 500,000 range.

The model definitely needs some tweaking.

One reason for the surrender might be that Paramount wants to clear the decks and calm things down with the Trump administration before the Federal Communications Commission rules on a proposed $8.4 billion media merger between Paramount and Skydance Media. Another reason could be that CBS just didn’t want to risk whatever skeletons might fall out of the closet should the lawsuit get to more formal proceedings.

CBS is crumbling before the nation’s eyes. A media brand that won’t stand on principle will always be suspect, even if big mergers eventually get approved.

Colbert is going to get paid. SirisXM is my guess.

Conan is probably making more $ doing podcasts than he ever made in TV.

I would listen to a Colbert/Lord of the Rings podcast!

SiriusXM paid him $150 million for his podcast studio. I’m not a huge Colbert fan but I think he’s popular enough he could get a deal somewhere.

Pretty hard not to believe the Ellison-controlled Skydance acquisition of Paramount/CBS has anything to do with this. Especially after Trump's gloating on social media today.

obvious fallout from Paramounts settlement with the orange wannabe-dictator. Damn shame obviously, but ultimately just another stepping stone on the way to autocracy. A late show host criticizing the dear leader? Can't have that. Sad times.
