Barger to me is just a big body. It's intriguing if he puts it together but we've seen his type over the years and those guys just tend to tweak things and fall off. I don't hold much hope for him, honestly.

Schneider I kinda do but moreso a limited ceiling. I do think he's a smart guy and want to see how he adjusts next year.

Clement is a vet. He fills a spot? Not sure on a championship team he's even on a roster, but he's a warm body who isn't bad.

Horwitz I want to see a bit more of.

Basically any guy who shows promise should be considered, but you never know what you're going to get until they continually show the ability to adjust their approach. When guys just hack, they better be super power hitters to get away with it, because most teams exploit faults.

Its basically extended Spring Training, AAA guys are getting extended looks.

However I don't believe very many of them will be on the roster if they are going to contend.

Which sounds like that's the plan.

Clement has a .700 OPS which is fine for a defensive first 2B or 3B batting 8th or 9th

He actually has a 3 WAR this year which is very good

Clement is like a better hitting John McDonald. As a utility type infielder he hits well enough to keep a roster spot. Not an everyday starter but he's handled himself well enough to keep a job.

Yeah. But if you're building a championship team you don't start at "utility infielder" and work your way out.

Who on this team holds their spot on a championship team?

Clement at utility infielder
Vladdy at 1B
Varsho at CF?

Horwitz is a maybe, and Kirk could be the backup/defensive-first catcher.

Need to add some bats in the offseason for sure this year...

Agreed, if the Jays are going to be a factor in the AL East.'

They will need to spend and bring in players that can have an impact

No question they need like 3 good bats for corner OF, corner IF, a long term answer at short pus a DH. That's a lot to be needed.

Used to be there was a decent supply of slugger or good hitters who could play 1st/DH. But seems like that's less the case now.
