Not even close. The guy is the captain coming off a successful season... You could add two more firsts and they'd still pass.

Really? Nico, Nemec +3 1sts and you think Vancouver still says no? I would do that trade. Nico himself is a Captain coming off a successful season, Nemec has all the tools to be an elite Dman and 3 unprotected 1sts is gold.

Worth noting that Heatley was only on the 2004 cover for a while. After his accident I believe EA pivoted and pressed some with Sakic on the cover. The Avs went out in Round 2

I had it. And I hated Heatley. I bought it for Gamecube. I guess I also hated myself.

Hischier plays a position the Canucks are already really strong at. Hischier is also not only not better than either of the two centers the Canucks already have, depending how you value Pettersson's ability to bounce back, is quite a bit below either of them.

You're asking Vancouver to give up their captain, Norris winner and, again, possibly the second best player at his entire position in the league. While Nemec, Hischer and 3 1sts starts the conversation, I am not sure you get an immediate yes.

I'm embarrassed to say that my first ever jersey was a white skate logo Canucks jersey. I was 6 and fortunately I came back from the dark side. But I love that jersey and hope the Canucks bring it back full time. The Orca is weak.

I agree the skate logo is pretty cool but when you change up your identity every decade in attempts to stay relevant you're bound to strike it lucky every now & then.

This offseason I agree with you but I wonder about the conversation starting next offseason.

Hughes will have 2 years left on his deal before UFA - and I think anybody would be silly to underestimate the attraction that going and playing with his two brothers in New Jersey (aka living in New York most likely) represents.

Maybe not right now...but if Nemec has a good season next year...and Hughes season is a step down from what he did this past season...then maybe that door starts to open.

Hischier/Mercer
Nemec
1st Round Pick / Silayev

Suddenly that becomes a very attractive package...although maybe the Devils just go "Ill wait and take a chance on a UFA"

I'll say this based off what little info I do get (though I got something with Kylington and that was wrong so what the #### do I know). Jack and Luke Hughes are more likely to be Canucks than Quinn to be a Devil.

That isn't to say they're going to be coming here, but that Quinn has the internal feeling of a lifer ala the Sedins. It's a big part of why he got the C when he did and why he got the long term deal when Pettersson got the bridge.

Yeah it's possible he decides to stay in Vancouver forever - but my guess is his brothers spend every minute trying to recruit him over the next 2 seasons prior to him being eligible to sign an extension and it will all depend how those 2 seasons go in Vancouver.

If they all want to play together then this upcoming free agency for Quinn is likely the best chance they have in their careers.

Quinn - 3 years left
Jack - 6 years left
Luke - 7 years until UFA eligibility - likely a Devil for 9 more (1 year of ELC + an 8 year extension)

I don't care who is on the cover, just stop giving us the same game every year with a new coat of paint.

I seem to recall hearing recently that Joe Thornton was originally slated to be on the cover, was charged with assault, so they replaced him with Heatley, who then got replaced by Sakic following the crash.

(Also one of my personal top 3 NHL games ever FWIW)

Everyone does. That's why top rookie cards from that era are worth like $3.50.

The deluxe version of the game comes with 4600 NHL points, 7 days early access, and some Hockey Ultimate Team benefits. It costs $130 CAD or $100 USD.

Is the 7 day early access to help EA to weed out the more irritating bugs?
