That crowd was hot for the MJF/Ospreay segment, great card to go into All In!
Apparently the crowd decided to go berserk for Big Bill at the Collision taping so it's worth watching just to see the reaction he gets haha.

Also, this is amazing news. And between this, Scott D'Amore running the show (responsible for TNA's revival), the upcoming appearances of Konosuke Take####a and El Phantasmo (two of my favorite wrestlers), and joining the "Pro Wrestling Alliance" with Qatar Pro Wrestling (QPW) and Oceania Pro Wrestling (OPW), I think this is a promotion I'm going to follow really closely.

I liked how MJF sort of revealed it was his own insecurity that precipitated his heel turn.

Yeah, other than Okada, I think AEW's booking has been solid lately. I don't really like flip-flopping with Swerve either, but he's so much better as a heel that I think it was a smart course correction.
If they flip him back to babyface for his feud with Hangman, I will be annoyed. That's one of those feuds where you don't really need one of them to be a true babyface anymore.

Wrestling's biggest, active narcissist (no one is taking the top spot from Hogan) is on his bull#### again.

“I love using the Jericho Vortex as a positive thing. Not every single feud or story you tell in wrestling will work, but I have to say in AEW that 90 percent [of] the guys I’ve worked with and stories told have been pretty good. That goes back to day one. I think I worked with Darby Allin in Week 3 without knowing who he was. Orange Cassidy, Jack Perry, Scorpio Sky and beyond that. Even Cody Rhodes. Cody was not who he was now. He was a guy who had been a journeyman and then became one of the top guys in AEW. He was earmarked to be, but I did a lot to put a spotlight on him. Same with The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega, Hangman Page. Jon Moxley was not Mox and was still the remnants of Dean Ambrose when he came into AEW. We worked together and he was on the road to where he is now, which is completely next level. MJF we worked together for a year. Max became way better after working with me. Eddie Kingston, too. The Inner Circle, The Jericho Appreciation Society, Danny Garcia.”
“I think one of the reasons is I’ve never been hurt. I’ve been here since Day one and on all the shows by necessity. Not because I demand TV time. My boss wants to put me on the show and do these segments and draw the ratings I draw. I’d say 80 percent of the time or more ratings go up when I’m on TV. That’s another misconception that I have this go-away heat. Go look at ratings and I’m in one of the highest rating segments each week. Once in a while, you do lose, but that’s the law of averages. I don’t know. I just think there are a lot of angry people that are unhappy I’m still doing this at a high level. Only five years in and here we are on the verge of this gigantic television deal that will change the course of wrestling history the same way we did it in 2019. The same way me and Kenny Omega did it in the Tokyo Dome in 2018.”

El Phantasmo doesn't have the regressive MAGA baggage that that idiot has, so I'll take ELP every time lol

The Mount Rushmore of narcissists in wrestling is incomplete without The Rock... Jericho, Hogan, Dwayne. Who would be #4? Maybe Warrior before he passed. Bischoff is pretty bad. So is Flair, and technically Bret Hart Hart is a mark for his own work. There are many in that conversation, but I think those too three are locks.
Punk is a mark for his own work too, but not quite at the level of Bret. Bret was an incredible worker, maybe the best to lace them up... Yet the way he talks makes it seem like he was the only one in the ring for many of his matches.

I'm actually not sure that's the right call for him.
His in ring capabilities make him stand out in WWE and I think under the new management he would have had a decent mid card spot solidified.
In AEW there are more guys that can work like him, so he will stand out less, and to me he's not good enough on the mic or as a character worker to crack the upper mid card that's already quite crowded in AEW
Good for AEW though as he's a guy that you can put into a match with anyone and have an entertaining match, just don't see him going over a whole lot.

I think its a bad call for him. Look he's an incredible worker, he's a freak level acrobat, but he's just bland, he's bland on the mic, he's bland in his presentation, he's bland in his story telling.
So he's going to go into AEW and do the flippity, flippity, in a company full of flippity flippity. He's not going to stand out.

Ricochet "YOU DON'T KNOW ME . . . YOU DON'T KNOW ME"
Fan from the back row - "Ain't you that WWE guy"
Rochet - "YEAH BUT YOU DON'T KNOW ME"
Fan - "YES! WE DO"
Flippity.

I do want to see Ricochet work with Ospreay, MJF, Omega, etc. Yet I agree he's too similar to much of the talent they already have on the roster. Between Ricochet, Hologram, Phoenix, Penta, and Komander they have similar skillsets. Let alone the people that come from CMLL. He might get overshadowed by all the others working that Lucha style. He'll definitely put on great matches... but that's not the problem AEW is having.
I could see him coming in a heel with Don Callis (or another manager) to start a feud with Ospreay. Somehow MJF needs the win at All In, and I wouldn't be surprised if the finish is controversial. I know Ospreay is wrestling on home soil, but can MJF lose the title so soon? After just changing the Championship a few weeks ago, it wouldn't make sense for him to lose so soon.
With all that being said, AEW still needs to trim their roster. There are far too many on the active roster that are unaccounted for on a weekly basis (Keith Lee, Miro, Alistair Black, Wardlow, Starks, Garica, Ortiz to name a few). I know they may appear occasionally, but it serves no purpose to have a Lance Archer show up from time to time for random matches only to then disappear for months. WWE used to do that often, where Edge or Styles would come back for one match and then be off television for months. I always hated that kind of booking, it rarely works unless they're at the level of John Cena or The Rock (even then it feels cheap).

Surfing. Which by all accounts, is exactly where he wants to be.
Richochet is going to explode into AEW and then just filter his way back down to the middle of the card because he cannot talk.

Totally. I'm just speaking to the fact that he only shows up every few months to job to someone and then is forgotten about again.

I fully agree with this. I'm not exactly stoked on the signing from a needle-mover perspective, but he should be able to put on quality mid-card matches when needed.

The Mount Rushmore of narcissists in wrestling has a bust of Hulk Hogan and then 4 slightly smaller busts of Hulk Hogan.
The actual answer I would give would be Hogan, Jericho, Bischoff, Vince, and Flair.

I think most reasonable fans want to see Ricochet just do a few big matches with Ospreay, Hangman, Swerve, Pac. AEW fans are smarks, so they'll know immediately who he is and what his limitations are.
Some of you need to relax. He hasn't been anything more than he is. Not even WWE could get a good promo out of him, so if AEW could do it I'll be surprised.
But frankly, AEW fits him better than the story-oriented WWE anyways, so I'm going home happy with this one.
