Checo brings in too much money to be sacked.

That's exactly the math that was done in the meeting TBH.

Red Bull have serious issues beyond Checo. Max is volatile and could leave, Jos is a psychopath, Helmut is constantly running his mouth, Horner is embroiled in controversy, and all of the above, including Checo and his billionaire backer, are in a massive power struggle amongst themselves and with Red Bull’s split ownership.
It’s legit a giant powder keg waiting to explode.

Even if money was the deciding factor here, the stability of having Checo stay on is probably good given the rumoured #### show at red bull these days.

Plus, I’d rather watch him crash and burn in real time than get sacked. I wanna see Max lose his cool and diss Checo. I want turnmoil, infighting and drama.

I’ve always been a red bull fan but never liked Max or Checo all that much. What I wouldn’t give to turn back time and have them keep Albon, Sainz and/or Danny Ric.

I mean, Max leaving would be bad for the team because he wins races even though he isn't a nice person and his dad comes with him. Keeping Perez (who loses races) wouldn't make that any better, and probably doesn't make Max more likely to stay. At this point any of the other driver options they have would likely show better performance, so they must have decided the Perez-related money outweighs the risk of coming 2nd.

There's also a chance Perez is just in his own head and will figure this out - he has in the past been a competent F1 driver, so it seems surprising to me that he's been this bad.

Since Neweys departure in Miami the Red Bullcar has lost ground to McLaren, and maybe now Mercedes. Max is still the best driver, but he's the best driver in the 2nd or third best car and that seems to have him irate these days.
They have a 42 point lead, and that might not stand up against McLaren who have two top end drivers plus the machinery. But I don't think Riccardo to Perez is the difference that it's romanticized as. Tsunoda has outperformed him this year and it doesn't seem like Red Bull holds a very high opinion of him.

Danny Ric would crash less at least. Perez crashing means more money from catering the cost cap and less money to make the car better

I still wonder how much that Perez crash last year in Monaco during qualifying (where his car was craned up into the sky afterwards and allowed everyone an excellent look at the Red Bull trick floor) allowed teams like Mercedes and McLaren to improve their cars for this season and catch up to RedBull.
