Odd trade for Vancouver. Edmonton got that 4th from Ottawa in the Bourgault trade.
Bourgault + Jake Chiasson for Podkolzin and Jarventie is good for Edmonton.

Former 10th overall who is not even close to PPG in AHL and has just 4 goals and 9 points in 58 NHL games over the last two seasons. Needs a fresh start.

He was do or die this year in camp at a time when the Canucks had made even more positive upgrades in the bottom six with Sherwood and Heinen already. I think the Canucks looked at it and decided he wasn't going to make the cut so instead of losing him on waivers they opted to get a pick for him.
