Played Predator ridge - ridge today. Fantastic course. Was real happy with the layout. Shot 84 (6 pars, 12 bogies) which probably helped with my enjoyment!
It’s toasty out though.. 22 degrees at 8 am tee off.

Noticed a few wasps but wasn’t bad at all. I take it they are notorious there?

Just finished my 3 day "Mountain Tour" in Victoria.
The 31st annual.
Won my 2 vs 2 scramble Friday
Won my 1 on 1 match play Saturday 6&5
Won the 4 man scramble Sunday (-10 at Bear Mountain. 15 teams)
We raised over $30,000 for Victoria Hospice and have raised over $200,000 total now.
A great golf weekend!

Played my personal best 9 last week with a 43 and then followed it up with another 9 at 46. Even though the 46 was higher I was playing much better golf and got drug down by somehow triple bogeying both par 5s lol.
Hopefully I can get some more rounds in as I feel like breaking 90 is in reach!

malcolmk14 - I did this exact trip this past weekend! Did Bootleg over Trickle Creek. All four courses are in absolutely terrific shape. Bootleg was probably my fave out of the four. The wasps are relentless right now over in that area though, just a heads up.

Just played Lorrette two days in a row, cart paths only so I walked today. Course is in great shape.

I don't know why anyone who is capable of walking those courses would ever take a cart.

Only because you can sit forever waiting for the tourists. I don’t like cart path only because it’s more walking and more of a pain than just having your clubs with you. I will say that a cart on Kidd makes more sense than Lorette though.

The carts do have the GPS. And you can fit more beer and gear. But yes, Lorette especially is very walkable. Kidd has the one hill but even that's not bad.
They charge for trolleys at Kananaskis, which is a bit of a disincentive to walking.

You can say the same thing for any course that's walkable.

Carts add 3-4 strokes to a round for me easily.
Takes you away from the rhythm of your game, seeing things you will when walking (especially approaching a green) and often I pull out a club or 2; walk to my ball and realise the lie calls for a different club but you just work with what you have at that point.
Unless it's super hot or a mountain course, I always prefer walking.

I've only played twice since they reopened and it was CPO both times, have they even allowed carts on the fairways since they opened?

Humble brag here. I've got 52 rounds in so far and none of them are with a cart, with Speargrass being the only exception as it's too hard to walk. I walk and have Clic Gear cart to push. I like the fact that I can think about the next shot when i'm walking towards the ball and have the time to analyze and think where you want to hit your next shot. Riding a cart means rushing up to your ball and quickly deciding which club to use. It's worse when someone else is on the cart with you.
The other factor is like the exercise I get from walking. At age 66 I gotta work hard to stay in shape as it's hard to keep the pounds off when you get older.

It's been hit or miss this year. Last weekend, it was 90 degree from cart path on Lorette and CPO on on Kidd.

CPO is the worst of both worlds. Inevitably I am on the far side of the fairway and never know what club I'll need until I get to the ball so I have to take 3-4 over with me. Then chunk the shot and now don't have a club at all. I always feel so rushed with CPO.
