Dont forget to ask him about Edmonton's stellar record of disclosing and dealing with career-threatening injuries.

Theres Smid, Souray, that guy they traded to LA that they lied about, Smith which was a lie, Keith which was a lie...I'm sure theres more.

Remember not to go gently on them.

Lord knows hacks like Spector don't hold back when on Calgary airwaves.

Bonus points if you get enough valid critiques in on the organization to get a call in from one of the Kitty Katz' henchmen to shut it down.

Smid is often the Thursday co-host with Karius. Karius is more of a general sports than your typical Oiler pom pom waiver like a Gregor or Stauffer. Tell it straight and don't pander to them. Eric Francis always cowers when he guest there. There was a woman who hosts a Blues podcast and she was terrible, kept kissing the Oilers ass and make it sound like the Blues are the Sabres. Hit them with truth, Karius and Smid will have their text line blow you from all the mouth breathers who think they can match and trade these guys right away.

I'll tune in go listen.

Edmonton could have signed and traded both players for more value.

A lot of Oiler fans are saying that Holland/Jackson/Bowman slept on it for too long and didn't sign the players because of their own inactions. But is it possible that Broberg and Holloway knew offers would be coming in from St. Louis and therefore didn't want to negotiate anything lower than what they knew those offers would be?

The players were free agents. They could approach any team they wanted or be approached by any team that wanted to approach them.

I doubt St Louis was planning this July 1, though. They had to trade with Pittsburgh to get their pick back, but it was the pick they literally just traded to Pittsburgh to take Hayes' contract.

That or they were that strategic that they used the Penguins as a proxy to lull the Oilers into thinking there weren't any threats to get the timing on no arbitration cases and extra buyout windows at the time of the offer. Those offer sheets were out right after that trade call.

I suspect you are right though since the Hayes trade was barely a month old and they had to get their pick back. Does make you think the Blues may not have tried this against a different GM.

One of those super rare guys liked by both fanbases while having played for both teams.

Give us Max Wanner and a 2nd + Ceci for one of our bit players like Henley. F those hosers.

I love Wanner. Watched him play lots in MJ, and he also played on my beer league team a couple summers ago. The guy is an absolute stud. Lots of articles about him too being a steal. Gonna be a Regehr type player w some offensive upside.

Wanner would not even crack the top 10 for defensive prospects on the Flames. Pass.
