I would add that I think this team is mentally fragile. Most of the time, when something goes wrong, they don't recover.

Pretty much the opposite of last weeks game. Total implosion and self inflicted wounds all over the 4th quarter. Bummer.

After last season's debacle, it felt like being in close games but losing was progress. But now it's time to start winning winnable games. This one was there for the taking and they blew it. Feels like a real missed opportunity to take a big step forward. Could have won on the road. Could have won two in a row. Could have pulled 1 point out of first in the west.

Instead we get a standard Stamps loss off a 4th quarter pick 6. Ugh.

Just another week on the roller coaster that is Jake Maier. I used to think Dave was untouchable but Maier may get him fired. Another year of this team going nowhere waiting for Jake to take that next step which simply doesn’t exist. How many untimely pick 6’s has this guy thrown over the past few seasons? He must be approaching a CFL record for futility.

Yeah Jake is just not a "smart" player. His inability to feel the pressure sticks out and his seemingly non ability to learn from mistakes, are the biggest things.

That being said i dont put the loss on him, though he was certainly part of it all. The fumble wasn't egregious and he really doesnt do that much even though he has the ball more than anyone else which provides more chances to lose it. But that INT was completely unacceptable....you just cannot make that throw.


I think the Stamps have a lot of really good pieces and the lines on both sides of the ball have gotten better and better all year.

However, the team cannot get out of its own way most nights, and that screams lack of focus and not paying attention to the details. Coaching may be a small part of it but good players take care of that aspect of things themselves. I was irrationally PO'd when they took two alignment penalties 3 plays apart....thats just guys not being aware of where they need to be.

Changes have to be coming and that may include position coaches as well as players, but i dont think DD is in jeopardy at this point. He is still like 35 games over .500 as a HC so he will get a long leash there, but his GM abilities might come under scrutiny sooner rather than later.

Chad Kelly being considered for reinstatement. We all know what will the outcome will be, he'll be starting in week 12 vs Saskatchewan.

Jake sucks but our game plan sucks as well. It’s hard to understand if the plan is built because they don’t trust him or they just suck at it. Dave is an innovative guy who has been around some of the most progressive offensive minds in CFL history.

I mean let’s not kid ourselves. Huff, Wally, Cortez have made the CFL what it is with the offensive game.

I think Dave needs to fire the head coach and the entire staff and bring in someone with a new perspective.

My thoughts. I think after 35ish starts, it's clear that Jake is not a championship caliber starting QB. As for the play-calling, imo, there are a bunch of factors in why Dave calls the game this way.
1. Jake doesn't have the arm strength to go deep.
2. With Henry out, they don't really have that WR who can stretch the field, although I'd like to see them use Michel in that role more, and Hyman looks like he could be that guy.
3. The o-line isn't good enough to give Jake and the receivers time for the deeper routes to happen.
4. They use the short passing game to compensate for an average rushing game or in the last 2 games because of not having more than one RB on the roster.
5. I also believe they don't play to win and take those shots down the field. It's more about ball control and managing the game. Unfortunately, Jake isn't a great game manager either.

Milanovich was a very displeased coach in an interview after the game.

Stated Powell will start next week. Bo benched because of the INT's.
