That was the Snowbirds that came into YYC in the last half hour or so, was it not? Came right over our place, but I didn't have my glasses on, so couldn't quite see. I assumed it was, given the formation, etc.

Thank you! I can't make out shizt without my glasses on, so it was hard to see any markings/colors. Very cool.

US Army Chinook helicopter currently on the south edge of the city, heading up to the airport. Probably making a bunch of noise.

Italians are on their way to Cold Lake for the airshow this weekend. They are transiting through Moose Jaw on Monday, not sure what their next show is but they are going all over NA this summer.

I've never seen anything like this. The B-2 still looks like it's from the future.

I don't care if they're 'old' now, the B-2 and the F-117A are two of the coolest, most futuristic-looking aircraft to ever grace our skies, even today. IMO they are the pinnacle embodiment of aviation superiority and aerial beauty.

Oshkosh took it to the next level this year, our Lancaster and two B-29's.

Can't get imgur to work properly right now, but go onto your live flight tracker of choice and check out the airspace over France right now.

My question is...why? Is this normal for an Opening Ceremony or something?

If you look at ADS-B there are also a few PC-12's up and some military helicopters. Plus an AWACs bird to the west.

Sounds like WestJet successfully got 6 of the old Lynx planes, with the possibility of getting a few more later.
Pretty big deal in an age when it's so hard to get new planes

I want to say Air Canada just picked some ex Lynx frames up as well but now I can't find that link.
