Huberdeau for Anderson and Calgary’s 1st back. Bad contract/bad player for bad contract/player with potential to rebound and become a scorer again. Might even have chemistry with some of Montreal’s skilled players. And Huberdeau and Montreal’s French culture might be a match made in heaven. Price on LTIR to make the cap work.

Josh Anderson is exactly the type of player the flames should be taking if the sweetner is good enough. 3 years against our cap is fine, player will be gone before we need the space.

Now the sweetner needs to be pretty darn good for 16.5 million in dead cap space.

Huberdeau is signed for an additional 4 years and way more dollars.

Calgary would need to add a ton of draft capital.

Oh yeah, it was a ridiculous proposition. You'd have to switch the first from Montreal to our first going back and Montreal would still say no before Craig could get the whole proposal out of his mouth.

Josh Anderson??
Treliving has a hard on for him, so just trade him to the Leafs...
If the Flames, I am asking our 2025 first back plus a top prospect (Michael Hage plz).

Although the Habs are under no cap pressure so I don't see this happening unless they plan to sign Drai next summer.

I wonder if you were to throw Pellletier into this deal if it would sweeten the return even more with him being Quebecois... not sure if that's even a thing still but it's gotta be right? If it's not we can atleast try to manifest it.

My2cents is right, Josh Anderson at 3 years is perfect for our rebuild in terms of gaining assets for an untradeable contract. If Montreal thinks it's a straight hockey trade without payment to get rid of the player, you just laugh and move on.

So, is there any actual legs to this Anderson rumour?

At least two, depending on how many players are involved.

Probably not...but it is Aug so I'll take what I can get.
Pelletier is an interesting idea. Despite the current management trying to be rational, I imagine at some point the Habs will overspend to get a Quebecois...why not Pelletier??

So Pelletier for
Anderson (retained 50%), 2025 first, Michael Hage??

I don’t think they’re moving Hage any time soon. They JUST spent a 1st on him in a good draft, he’s a die hard Habs fan and looks like he’s going to be a great player

With how much the Flames have been linked to Anderson, even back to his CBJ days, I could easily see a deal coming to fruition. I think there’s people in the organization that like him a lot.

We aren’t trading for him because we like him a lot. He’s a bum and cap dump.

He may not be scoring nearly enough to justify his exorbitant contract, but he’s still big, fast, and physical with a bit of an edge. I’m sure he still has his fans.

Fans of Anderson? He's a nothing player with no hands and a massive contract for three more years. If there's any interest in him it's from a team looking to acquire assets to take his contract and that's it.

I could see Habs moving Anderson. And then trading for Laine
