I actually don't. I don't know where funding for capital investment in the airport would come from, i.e., which budget or who is responsible for managing that. I would assume by the name "airport operations" that their budget would inherently be for operational spending and not capital investments like large-scale repairs or rebuilds of significant portions of a terminal.

'we' in that case likely meaning the airport authority, and I imagine their capital is currently tied up in the runway replacement

I'm just assuming that if, say, we were going to tear down and rebuild a large chunk of the airport it wouldn't be the airport authority that would be the source of that funding because we're presumably talking about hundreds of millions of dollars... would it be federally funded? Or some combination of federal / provincial / city funding, maybe?
Look, just tell me who I'm supposed to be annoyed with here.

Clearly, Acey is the one to take it out. He apparently has the time to stroll around the airport.

The Airport Authority mostly runs as a private business, but they do get federal funding for some things.

Apparently the Airport Authority did fund the more than $2b of renovations last decade. And by 'fund' I mean 'borrowed money from the government that they can't pay back', but who's to judge?

You just haven’t proven him wrong yet, for a guy who’s constantly wrong all the time he sure gets butthurt over it lol.

"We can operate fine without concourse B gates" is pretty plain English for the airport can continue to function without terminal B in service. Not sure why you're rolling that statement over into capital investments instead.
Whomever is employed and involved in the day to day, minute by minute operation of the airport operations would be easily assumed to be lumped into 'we'. Then if you're following along it would be pretty clear that Acey works at the airport in some capacity.
Although perhaps general fans of team YYC also use the term 'we' loosely.

You know you've really made it in life when someone like that has you on ignore. You too someday can be in my position with a little hard work.

It’s a smokers patio over the garage that had the walls built out of LP products (I think?) where the walls went right down to the floor of the deck. Over the years it softened the walls to the point I could poke my finger through the rotted portions. That ended up leaking into my garage and partially (but not significantly enough) soaked a main support beam. If that needed replacing it would have been 10s of thousands to repair.

Ya, the installation guide says this about trim:
Quote:
Trim applied adjacent to roofs, porches, patios, sidewalks, etc.
must have a clearance of at least 1 inch (25 mm) above any
surface where water might collect. The surface must be sloped
or otherwise designed to provide proper drainage so the trim is
at no time directly exposed to standing water.

Basically keep it dry. So if this is a place where snow can collect, melt and penetrate, then freeze I could see it reacting that way. You see a lot of miter cuts as well, which is usually the first red flag I spot when causally browsing. Any installation failures like this void warranty. When installed properly I think it's a great product. And it's not even that hard. I'm just a homeowner, read through the stuff and followed their guides. The "pros?" More of a crap shoot!
All guides, if anyone cares:

*shrug*
I don't really keep track of who goes on the ignore list; I double-checked and was surprised to find 25 names on it, haha.
Generally there are three types of people on my ignore list:
1. people who are blatant trolls (most of whom are permanently banned from CP anyway, I think; Yoho for example is in this category)
2. people who espouse a point of view so objectionably bad that my opinion of them is forever tarnished, and there's no point in ever viewing their posts again,
3. people who very clearly have a problem with me in particular, so there's no point in ever viewing their posts again.
People in the first and second categories should really reconsider their lives. Most of the people to whom 3 applies are generally just butthurt after being dunked on for writing something egregiously stupid. Amusingly I don't remember what I ever did to piss off topfiverecords, but he very clearly became incapable of doing anything other than trolling me, so... *shrug* I suppose in fairness I can see why he'd find me arrogant and insufferable, if I think so little of him that I can't remember the interaction that angers him so.

I wish I could see if I'm on anyone's ignore list. Probably not? I'm too boring.
I don't ignore anyone. Curiosity would get the best of me if I did.

The confusion is high with this one, not once have I ever been “pissed off”, never been “angered”, nor have I “trolled” this odd fellow. timun; always a #2.

25 posters on ignore??!! How does it get to that? I've had so many runs ins and despised so many ill-thought/ignorant opinions and to this day haven't put in the effort to put even one poster one ignore. That's crazy.

My closest was yoho but with him it didn't matter because he was so effective at trolling that the thread was all about him whether you could see his posts or not.

It's easy, you just click on a person's username and go to their profile, and there's a drop-down to add them to the ignore list.
Maybe I'm a little more flippant about its use than the average CPer? I dunno, I find it makes the CalgaryPuck experience a lot more pleasant. I think the butthurt people out there who find me insufferable would be better served by ignoring me rather than letting their butthurt fester and manifest in nasty ways, but... *shrug* oh well.

I find there's so few posts on CP in general that it doesn't really matter. A crappy post takes less than one second to scroll by.
