He was tons of fun to watch during the Collision taping in Calgary. Was thinking to myself, 'dang this kid is a freakin' talent'
One of my first live wrestling matches was at the Pavillion and it featured a main event of Dynamite Kid versus Bret Hart, and beyond Dynamite being unbelievably fast and technical, he also was one of the first small heels and made it work.

Some solid wrestling again on Dynamite considering the flight issues... but the booking is so utterly confounding. Swerve is a heel again?... How can Swerve go back to that feud with Page when both of them are trying to kill/retire their opposition?
Also the CEO music/chant needs to go. It's the worst in wrestling today. They have a reason to change it now that she's turned heel herself.
Sasha/Mercedes is always good in the ring, but her outside of the ring presentation and promos haven't been great in AEW. And I'm not sure if having Kamille there helps, as she looks pretty menacing to the point where Mone looks even worse.
Similar to how Jacob Fatu makes Solo look like a bit of a goober, but at least Sasha can back it up in the ring.

I get your point about Solo and Jacob, but I am not sure that's totally fair. Jacob is making a lot of people look like goobers.
He'd make Roman look like a ####ing goober. Guy is a ####ing menace.
It is pretty remarkable to me that WWE has been able to make Jacob Fatu look like a bigger signing and menace than AEW has Okada (In my opinion of course)
And Okada himself hasn't even been that bad and has performed the role asked of him quite well, the role they've given him just hasn't been taking advantage of him to his full capabilities.

The issue is Okada has been grouped with people that no one outside of their own fans wants to see. He wasn't brought in and made an attraction, he wasn't brought in and made a threat. He was just brought in, dropped into the mid card and left to hang out with the group and be buddies and a jokester with them.
Jacob was brought in, and launched at everything like a human-seeking warhead that cannot be stopped by anyone but his own reckless abandon. They literally had to write in and apparently kayfabe a serious injury done to himself because they want us to believe that even Roman would not have been able to do anything about Jacob.
If Jacob's criminal stuff has been squared away and the man can travel, he is going to be a world champion in the WWE within 5 years because as pointed out, he can even ####ing talk. He's the complete package.

Mercedes was never good on the mic, she always came across as pretty phony. But she's really good in the ring which covers it up.
But I have to wonder because her best work is still her NXT work with Baley, how much of that was Mercedes and how much was Baley, who's a really good worker.

Mercedes probably needs more ring time too TBH. Both to show her strength which was her in-ring work, and to work off some of the ring rust.
Since her last match in WWE (5/15/2022) she has been in 10 matches according to Cage Match (5 in NJPW/Stardom, and 5 in AEW) and due to injury only 5 matches in the last 15 months.
Right now they are almost playing to her weaknesses by giving her way too much mic / promo time, and not nearly enough match time.
And I think Kamille being associated with her likely will make it worse because it means Kamille fights her week to week battles and Mercedes likely will be doing more guest commentary and less frequent in-ring action.

Jacob knows he's never getting a better opportunity and is making a name for himself...he's probably actually more comparable to Ospreay than Okada in that way.
Okada is funny...after Blood and Guts somebody online somewhere else said "Okada really has just speed ran to the Nakamura US retirement portion of his career".
With Okada though I don't think it's the case...I think it's poor booking. You have a guy who is probably the best singles wrestler in the World...and he's had a handful of singles matches in AEW so far but none that I would say have really shown how good he truly is ...but he is constantly booked into multi-man matches with the Bucks including both Blood and Guts and Anarchry In the Arena...and none of that suits his skill set at all IMO. He looks very uncomfortable in the hardcore / deathmatch settings to me.
Get him away from the Bucks already.
