From the radar, that appears to be it for the city this evening.

Lots of heavy rain and lightning in Chestermere, I was out driving for a bit and a few areas are getting to the point of questionable pass-ability.
Lots of strugglers out too.. if you don't feel you can see well enough that you have to drive 10km/hr on an 80km/hr road just PULL OVER AND WAIT! You're causing far more risk even if you have your hazards on.
Or at the very least turn your headlights on.
Sooo many new drivers in Chestermere lately.

Find an overpass to park under for maximum strugglerability. Don’t expect simple things like turning tail lights on when this is where the bar is currently set.

It’s still raging in the deep SE, no hail but heavy rain and lighting every second. Had one bolt hit and it must have been within a few hundred meters. Loudest I’ve ever seen in my life.

Heavy rain and thunder in Garrison Woods where I am. Hail was only rice grain sized.
Last year we got hammered pretty hard. They're still replacing roofs and siding in my neighborhood. Huge backlog.

No hail in NB yet. Tons of lighting. My doorbell cam video looks like a horror show. Rain is down to a drizzle now. I know I am probably jixing it.

After missing the damaging hail (Tuscany), I’m going to uncover the plants so they can get some water. You can blame me if we get more hail later. Radar looks good for now though.

We need a killdozer for the people who stop under overpasses.

Little (if any) hail on Broadcast Hill, but holy cow that was a lot of rain. I miss being a renter so I could just enjoy watching these storms.

Yeah they need to really add a specific infraction to the Traffic Safety Act for this, like "knowingly obstructing traffic at an overpass during inclement weather" or something. 20 day impound and $2,000 fine. Put an end to it real quick.

Not sure why they're aren't a bunch of cameras under each bridge for such occasions. Seems like a fairly easy revenue stream, and one I support wholly. Anyone who stops under the bridge for no reason and dangerously obstructs traffic, large fine. During a hailstorm, double it. The fact that literally every single overpass had swarms of cars under it shows that it's a large-scale issue that not many people in the city take seriously.

Pretty uneventful in the Woodbine area tonight. A little bit of heavy rain and quite a light show for awhile but no hail.

I'm actually worried this is much much worse than a few years ago in skyview. it seems like nothing is damaged as badly but way more communities hit, not sure how big the backlog is going to get, and how badly the insurance companies with respond to this, it's almost to the point that insurance should just spring for hardyboard if you waive future claims or something, can't keep insurance a billion in vinyl siding damage in Calgary every other year.

So what's the going rate to upgrade from vinyl, since I am assuming my house will need at least 2 sides redone.

Dude I am just amazed that it was so loud you saw it. Cross sensory overload
Jokes aside I hope everyone is ok and damage is minimal.

Welp, I'm in Vancouver with my wife. But my wife's car is in the Park and Jet at the airport in Calgary. Not looking forward to seeing it. Fingers crossed.
