Some good news for Shapo, the ATP has reviewed his default and he will keep his prize money and ranking points, he moves up 33 spots in the live rankings

That is great news...I saw some people coming to Greg Allensworth's defense saying he's one of the best umpires on the ATP tour. That may well be, but even good umpires are not immune from bad decisions. Umpires need to be faster at calling on ushers to remove unruly patrons from the crowd as well. We also need better ushers to stop people from milling about in the middle of a tie-break. Six points into a tie-break is not a changeover, the players are simply changing ends. I guess what I'm trying to say is that there were many people that erred here and I'm happy to see that Shapo wasn't unfairly punished in this case.

Yeah, tennis never rests, but I have to think if this was not Felix's home tourney, he might be skipping this one. He does catch a break as his first round opponent is Cobolli who lost to Korda in the DC final this past weekend.

Is Sportsnet so bereft of on-air talent that we get Monster Truck calling Bianca's match in Toronto?
Edit: Bianca trying to limit how much we have to listen to the carnival barker by bagelling Tsurenko in 20 minutes.

Tough news as Milos pulled out of his match in Montreal versus Holger Rune. I was hoping to watch that match.

I can't believe what has happened in this match, Bianca won their first 7 games and has won only two since that point. Now she's down a double break in set 3.

It was 5-0 30-love Tsurenko serving in this 3rd set. Bianca is now serving at 3-5.
Edit: Tsurenko serving at 5-4 now

Rats, just too much of a hill to climb. Brutal loss from Bianca, Tsurenko is not a good player.

Bianca has no consistency set by set. Only way I can see that being resolved is by her being durable, and be able to play enough matches in a season without lengthy breaks. But her biggest adversity is her injuries.

I started watching the match at the end of the first set and I'm thinking to myself that is sounds like monster truck guy is calling this match. No. It can't be. Then later they go to the panel and who else but Gene Principe is at the desk confirming that the broadcast was indeed no good.

Marina Stakusic just won her match in Toronto despite hitting 16 double faults. 6-7 6-1 6-4 over Erika Andreeva. Gotta fix that serve, though lol

Shapo loses in straight sets to Brandon Nakashima. That's a costly loss as a win would have propelled him within the top 100 (live rankings has Denis at #104)
