Penalties is always a crappy way to lose but to lose so badly at penalties really sucks.

Balls.

Now we're just languishing in England's Tradition of losing to the Germans on Penalties.

No shame in losing to Germany in penalties. They can hold their heads high. The whole country is with you

German keeper looked to be off her line early on every save there. No rule against that here?

Hell of an effort overall considering the BS they endured.

Great effort, too bad it finished that way. Proud of their resiliency, that was basically their 4th playoff game in a row, with the sanctions...tall order.

Never take the Germans to penalties.

Remember Italy in World Cup 2006. They put on 5 forwards in extra time.

The strategy in this mixed relay is fascinating.

That was wild. Liendo put in one heck of a swim to get Canada back into it

Well, A) that's not true, and B) you've been quiet while Canada has been winning, only to come back right now, so here's an official public warning to stop the trolling or we'll stop it for you.

The women’s soccer game was so stressful. I really thought Canada had the best chances, particularly in the second half, but lacked killer instinct. The penalties were pretty ugly, not sure how they only scored 2. Still a great team and run through the round robin. The team and likely whole national program will need a reset after this Olympics.

Heh. I was obviously too distracted on a busy day today. I thought Germany was vastly better than Canada today. The clearly better team won imo. I think just getting there drained them, or that's what it looked like to me. Congrats to them on getting to the knockout round. I don't think anyone, except themselves, thought they could.

Was fun to watch Summer in the IM on the American feed. The announcers were pretty quiet. And very sad
