Pretty sure they play each other for bronze. So not a guaranteed medal yet.

They do indeed play for bronze. Felix making it to the semi-finals is pretty incredible considering he really hasn't had a great 2024 on tour. I didn't think he was going to get by Medvedev considering he had never beaten him in 7 meetings prior to yesterday. He's playing with house money.

Some sports do not have bronze medal matches - boxing is one of them. The Canadian boxer who made the semi finals is guaranteed a medal, becasue they don't play a bronze medal match.
Other sports (not sure if in this olympics), have two paths to a bronze medal, and thus give two bronze medals. in which if they are knocked out early, they play off against other people who are knocked out early and can win a bronze medal that way.

This is a huge match for Novak, the only thing missing from his CV is Olympic gold.

Is McIntosh already our best Olympian of all-time? If not she will be by the end of her amateur career.

Well according to most medal counts gold medals are worth the most. If we're going based off of that metric McIntosh has already passed Oleksiak. The only Canadians with more gold medals than McIntosh are McBean and Heddle.
