If Parekh shows he’s ready for the NHL, which is what is being talked about, then keeping him in the NHL isn’t rushing him.

Rushing him would be putting him in the NHL before he’s ready.

If there’s anyone ready for the NHL, it might just be Parekh. He’s already got a 96-point season under his belt in junior as a D, and a Memorial Cup- not much to prove there. If he stays healthy, he could very well destroy the OHL.

Generally agree, but from the mentally-ready perspective, the 18-year old that graduated high school 3 years ago is probably one of the few ready. Physically, he can add some weight but with his apparent drive and commitment I could see him adding some decent pounds before October.

I'm sure that the Flames will do whatever they feel is best for his development whether he stays up or goes down to the AHL and I won't be upset either way.

Mangiapane did ask for a trade at the during the season. Didn’t feel comfortable in the organization after his buddies left him.

Parekh can definitely use another year in junior developing strength, skating, and defensively play while trying to break the century mark. For a guy that likes to chirp as much as he does, as a 9th overall, it’s far from a slight to him if he didn’t make it.

Tkachuk and Gaudreau left in July 2022, Mangianpane re-signed in August. He knew his buddies were gone. Unless he had different buddies you're referring to?

Why are we assuming those were his buddies?
There’s been a ton of players exit

I'd be curious who else was being referred to in that post as well?

Could be any of Tanev, Markstrom, Elias all of whom were here for most of his time

Yeah most of the roster has turned over so it's probably a combo of all.

Hanifin, Gaudreau, Backlund, and Andersson were pictured together at his wedding...and at least two of those guys are gone.

IIRC there was a photo once of Dube, Lindholm, Mangiapane, and somebody else vacationing together too

Considering about 90% of the team is gone compared to rhe 22-23 season it wouldn't be surprising if lots of his buddies were gone.

I hope Parekh just dominates the OHL offensively and defensively this year. No reason to rush him….. we don’t have room.

Weegar-Andersson-Bahl-Bean- Miromanov are locks….then you have Pachal, Hanley, Solovyov, Kuznetsov, Grushnikov, and others fighting for that last spot…..
Still hopeful? He's NINETEEN!!

The other guy in the pic - who just broke into the NHL this year - is 5 full years older than him.

Yeah, I too am 'still hopeful' on Honzek.

Pospisil was 3rd in fitness testing last year. Not a bad guy for Honzek to learn from...

On the Kylington front I hope the bad blood isn't preventing a deal from getting done. I'd have no issue with him back on a 1 or 2 year deal still.

Its an asset that has pretty high top end potential still and would also allow a bit more flexibility to potentially move Andersson or another dman if the opportunity arises

He’s also pretty much lost a year of development during a really crucial period for kids. I should quantify my statement though. I initially was hoping for a 1st line winger or top 2nd line C, but he’s looking for more a middle 6 winger right now. I am hopeful that he can still hit original projections because a 3rd line winger would be disappointing still.

Agreed, best case scenario would be Parekh showing he's far to good to send back to Saginaw but then loan him to Team Canada for the WJ's.

Klapka and Solovyov still require contracts. I imagine this is something that can wait or the AGMs can handle if Conroy is on vacation for a while.
