I’ll miss Kikuchi, so will his teammates.

I'm surprisingly disappointed that the Jays are selling off players like Kikuchi and Jansen. They were supposed to be a part of something special.

Hopefully the team is getting good pieces back that can allow them to retool.

Trades like this are Atkins specialty. When they started to tear down the Bautista/Donaldson era team he extracted some impressive value in many of those trades too.

It's really too bad he just isn't effective in any other facet of the job.

They for sure, made the correct choice and trade the players and obtain as many prospects as they can.

What I will be curious to see, will they try to re-sign Kikuchi and Jansen in the offseason, my guess is yes they will

With the hyper-specialization of player roles (e.g. exclusive closers) why don’t they do the same with GMs? One for negotiations, one for free agents, one for drafting, one for trading…. Crazy idea obviously but you see in every sport that GMs have clear strengths and weaknesses.

Hard for me not to wonder if part of the reason the Jays got so much out of the Astros is having James Click on staff.

Be cool if it was linked somehow, given that if the Jays were to fire Atkins it be a bit surprising to me if Click wasn't the replacement.

Astros fans feel they got schooled and the Click connection is mentioned. But also just seems like prices are high.

I would guess its an sellers market, I hope the Jays trade a few more players before the deadline.

I'd love that as I'm a fan of both players, but I doubt they'd want to come back to the Jays with the amount of losing over the last few years they've had to deal with compared to going to Boston and Houston where they'll both likely win more than lose over the next stretch.

I don’t think they’ll go after both players at all. Simply it would reek a bit of gentleman’s agreement before trading them. It would look at in the eyes of other teams for future dealings.

With the emergence of Vlad again, I think they end up learning some lesson and become the Dominican Jays. I don’t know who the Dominican free agents are but I’d guess it ends up with three or so guys from the DR in some form.

The big Dominican free agent would be Juan Soto, but my guess is he either re-signs with the Yankees before FA, or the Jays get Ohtani'd again and are used as salary leverage.

Yankee's have done it in the past Chapman is example.,

Moved him obtained a bunch of prospects, then resigned him

No idea if the Jays would be interested, however it has been done

Sounds like Trevor Richards has been traded to the Twins.

Who do we get coming back in this deal?

John Schneider and over using Richards cost the team getting a real player in return

Sounds like another trade might happen

The Pirates and Blue Jays are in the final stages of a deal sending utilityman Isiah Kiner-Falefa to Pittsburgh, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan (X link).

The Jays will receive outfield prospect Charles McAdoo in return, MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand writes (via X).

Can’t really complain that they’re getting rid of everyone because they should be doing so but:
1) what are they going to do with so many mediocre bodies. Surely some have to get reflipped for quality
2) no idea what they’re going to do this offseason
