It's gone too far. Municipalities shouldn't have these powers to had out honours like this. It's time the province stepped in and took back these areas of provincial responsibility. From now forward, all white-hatting will require cabinet approval or a direct order from her lordship upon high, Danielle Smith.

The guys who got us those pipes did more for the average Calgarian than most of the celeb types who come through.

These guys went out of their way to help a city in another country that they probably couldn't have pointed to on a world map. Giving them a couple hats is the least we could do as good deeds should be recognized especially at a time where the news is mostly driven by negative stories.

The Feds actually proposed a pretty good White Hat policy, but Danielle Smith insisted she would only participate if there were no strings attached.

Besides being just another case of stupid political grandstanding, the "No Strings Attached" requirement is just absurd.

If there are no strings attached, what are we supposed to do with the little whistles?

Yeah maybe but i just think it's a political event to make this disaster look better. Not saying anyone could have done anything to make this pipe not burst but let's call it for what it is. A media event for some political brownie points.
