This show is really pushing the envelope on the whole incest thing. I got the initial bits, with the Targaryen family. But now, they've brought back Daemon's ghost mother and made that scene overly explicit. Then there was Mysaria, who's not even a Targaryen, having her incest moment...why?

This isn't even hot incest like season 1.

Yeah feel similarly. The Daemon story… like… come on guys, we get it. Time to move it along already FFS.
Last couple episodes have been iffy and they need this next one to hit… tough to see where this is going and it’s a little too slow. Like, tell the story already…

I have to agree that the last two episodes have been underwhelming. I don't need to see battles with dragons every episode but this Daemon thing is dragging hard. Also I'm not clear on how Seasmoke who's clearly picky about who his rider should be, could just fly around a bunch of random people and instantly zero in on the chosen one to ride him. Does Addam have some sort of attractive odor detectable at altitude? Seasmoke has a thing for dreadlocks? There's been more than a few instances of pretty sloppy/lazy writing this season.

Matt Smith is also a poor casting for Daemon, IMO (and same thing when they cast him as Prince Philip in The Crown). I don't think his acting helps the storyline. He's very bland and one-track and frankly, his performance as Daemon just feels like he dressed Philip in GoT garb and carried on the same character. I feel like I could just fast forward through the Daemon parts and not miss a thing - "here we have Daemon looking blankly off to the right, hands curled, face as contorted as the botox will allow, conversing with the air again but will now jump-scare when someone inhabiting the actual plane of reality asks him a question and he dimly returns to himself & the person speaking to him." *yawn*
Aemond (who my autocorrect insists is Almond) is farking creeeepy. Gives me the absolute heebs, which I'm sure is the point. He almost makes me like Joffrey Baratheon. Almost.

Forgot to mention that the Driftmark characters have been building/repairing a single ship for the entire season now lol.
Is this only available set piece at Driftmark at they shot at? Some docks and a ship? Same conversations over and over?

* Valyrian.
Since he is Corlys's bastard, he doesn't have any Targaryen blood, but Corlys's family is from Old Valyria. However, they were sailors and not dragon riders.

Ewan Mitchell has that duck face (not sure if natural or not) that looks elfish and creepy. Fantastic casting for Aemond.

Honestly, I wish they had used the last two episodes to expand the relationship between Cregan Stark and Jace, as in the books they have a close relationship due to ...
Plus, who doesn't love more Stark content?

I quite like Matt Smith in the role. The point of Daemon, and why he was never named king, is that he doesn't really think things through.
As for Aemond, definitely ultra creepy and gives off serial killer vibes. Joffrey was always dumb and violent, but Aemond seems calculating, which is much worse. His appearance comes off a bit ham sometimes though. He definitely has a naturally weird smile, but he also really plays up (and over plays up) the body language at points. I'd call his smile more of a Jack Nicholson Joker than a duck face.

I've been enjoying it. Last two episodes have been really good. I do like how the 10th Doctor Who has now been a little b-word king in two series, this and The Crown

Nobody is really Joffrey in this series, yet. Aemond doesn't delight in casual cruelty for no purpose, he's just willing to hurt and kill to further his cause, which is kind of a standard GoT template.

I'm for rollling with "Almond" for Aemond because that's a great auto correct.
I think he has a hard on for becoming the Daemon that never was. It's probably no coincidence that their names are anagrams of one another. Just uhhh.. put the D on the front or the back.
What is George doing to us..
Does give you the heebie jeebies though.. The t-rex jaw doesn't help. You could see that thing coming at you in the dark, through the pixelation of a battle of winterfell. Terrifying.

At first Gwayne Hightower gave me Ramsay Bolton vibes (potentially), but then it went another way.

He was giving me sister f****r vibes. Where would that rank on the hot incest scale?

He may have Targaryen blood. Not to get too nerdy but the family tree prior to Corlys father is incomplete. Aegon the Conquerers own mother was a Velaryon. Theres a good chance there was a fair bit of marriage between the houses from when they left for Westeros before and after the Doom.
