Ranked 22nd vs Canada’s 8th, but I have no idea about momentum or star power.
Edit: well obviously Canada has momentum now, I meant heading into the tournament or prior head to head.

Hard to look up to or cheer for a nation of cheaters.

Gotta give the team credit here as they could have folded, but fought back here. It's good that France and Columbia are not in a situation where both have three points booked a can kick the ball around to a 0-0 draw. The ladies st least have a chance here.

They played magnificently in the second half and deserved the win. However, the headlines are "we're not cheaters" when they very clearly are.

You seem upset.
I’m upset for all the women who trained hard for the past three years, only to be cheated by Canada.

It’s beyond pathetic. Trying to bring down everything good thats occurred in Canadian soccer the last 4-5 years. Arash was already speculating that Canadas Olympic gold is in danger and I swear i could see a grin sneaking in. Embarrassing as ####.
Yes using drones is morally unacceptable but so is dangerously speculating that Canada deserves to have their biggest achievements in the sport revoked. Something that is completely unprecedented. Our media is acting like Canada is part of some state sponsored doping scandal. Get a grip.
I still do not even believe there is a significant competitive edge from using a drone, which is why it was so stupid to use it to begin with.

Yeah, achieving success by way of a major cheating scandal will do that. Ask Houston Astros fans how they feel.

Of all of the years watching CONCACAF soccer it's become clear surely it's Canada that are the dirty cheaters.

Stealing signs in baseball gives a team a much bigger advantage than taping a soccer practice. It is not even in the same ball park. No pun intended.
Using PED’s is a major cheating scandal, this is childs play compared to actual cheating that goes on in sports.
It was incredibly stupid, but even the Astros did not get their championship revoked. To strip a gold medal for something that may or may not of even happened is beyond extreme and complete bull####. The competitive advantage is minimal.

The other teams should just kick off, and let Canada score as many times as they want. What's the point of entering a sporting competition when one country won't follow basic sportsmanship? They're cheaters, the men's team are a bunch of cheaters, and Jonathan Herdman is looking at a lifetime ban from football once all the details come out.

This is like your wet dream eh?
Canada got caught, they are all doing it.
“We watched training sessions of all the opponents before we played them,” Bielsa, now Uruguay’s head coach said. In Argentina, this practice was common apparently, and one he had continued after coming to work in Europe.”

Players having bags of piss thrown on them is good old fashioned sportsmanship.

Typical Canadians, won't take responsibility for their actions or admit when they're wrong.
Canadians seem to have this thing where they think the rest of the world loves them. Bizarre.

Bielsa said he was "ashamed" to have to reveal the information.

Not a lot of shame coming out of Canada, and certainly not the posters in this thread. Not enough, anyway.

I am one of those. I'm pissed that they cheated and wish they hadn't done it. Not going to be an apologist or try to minimize what they did.
But I remain a fan of the team. I feel zero shame, I'm not the one that cheated. You deal with the new circumstances and move on.
And by the way, very hard to dole out appropriate punishments in team sports, you end up inevitably hurting innocent people. Lots of Canadian players likely had zero to do with this and didn't benefit. Canadian soccer fans certainly had no idea.
I am all for determining the people responsible and punishing them harshly with suspensions (or fines in the case of pros like the Astros). I feel that is far more of a deterrent than team penalties. Taking away draft picks from the Astros really did nothing to punish the guilty parties. Same with Chayka and the Coyotes. It mainly hurts fans of the team.
