What is it with European tourists and Death Valley? Every year they're in the news, either dying or coming close to it. Why would you spend so much money to fly halfway around the world to a place called DEATH VALLEY? And if you're so intent on making the trip, why not do some proper research and get proper supplies?

I'm confused. How did he get so far away from his sandals? worst case, toss your shirt on the ground and stand on that. Ah well, guess he got a souvenir for life to remember his trip.

You're the Sunnyside PurpleAir sensor, aren't you?
If so, thanks for that! I knew exactly when I could open my windows last night and start cooling down the house.

At one point last night, IQAir was reporting 961 in the Varsity area. Mid 700s in other parts of the NW.

I largely blame Karl May and his cowboy stories of Old Shatterhand and Winnetou the Apache.

I don't even care that my eyes burn right now, it's just nice to not have my shirt stuck to my back
Of course by August I'm sure we'll have smoke and oppressive heat combined. Yuck

Oddly enough, this smoke is good weight loss for me...
The smell and smokiness has made me lose my appetite for any food entirely and I actually don't feel the hunger lol wtf. Anyone else like this??

Nah, but I just ordered Ozempic off the Internet. I don't even think I'm that fat or anything, but I'm going to try to drop 20 pounds without putting in any effort. Can't wait to get it!

You shouldn't take Ozempic without medical supervision as you generally can't just start a target dosage. When I was taking it they tried to increase my dosage and even that slight change resulted in me being in the hospital so dehydrated after the reaction my blood pressure was dangerously low (like they had to put me in a wheelchair after I made it into emergency).

WTF, really?
I do have a chat window supervision situation with my online practitioner (I don't think it's a doctor, but if the avatar is true it's a super hot chick). I did have to take my blood pressure at Shopper's Drug Mart to give to them. What's crazy is when I went to sit in the chair to do my blood pressure at the machine I thought you had to sit facing out toward the store. I went to sit down and fell between the machine and the bench - you're supposed to sit facing the machine, but I messed that up and fell in a hole. Anyway, that really got my heart going, which I think contributed to me having crazy blood pressure and heart rate, which worked to my advantage in securing my prescription.
Anyway, now I'm scared. I haven't received my drugs yet. Maybe I'll run it by my actual doctor before starting. I just think he'll tell me I don't need it, which is total BS. I gotta get my beach bod back in action.

Might check with the actual doctor.. did the online practitioner tell you to start with 0.25mg for 2-4 weeks, then ramp up to a higher dosage (assuming your target dosage is higher than 0.25mg, I was at 1mg for a while but I was really heavy)? Or if they told you to just start at 1mg then a) they're a quack and b) you'd be in for a rough time.
EDIT: And the Shoppers blood pressure machines always read high for me too.. I thought it was just because my arm was too fat for the fixed cuff but even after losing weight they still tend to read high for me. At least my local one does.

Those things wrap wayyyyy tighter than the regular doctor ones and it always freaks me out and reads high. What if it malfunctions and my arm gets gangrene in this thing, plus people milling about judging you (I assume) which I am not a fan of.

The medication hasn't actually been sent to me yet. I had a blood test (sorry, forgot to mention they sent me a blood test requisition form) on Tuesday. They should have the results for that nowish? soonish?
We haven't talked dosages yet. I guess I got ahead of myself. I've done the blood tests, the blood pressure thing and my height, weight and crazy vitals due to the Shoppers Drug Mart misadventure did give me pre-approval (according to them).
They may be quacks. I think they're called Felix. They advertise on Reddit, which is where I like to go to get my medical information.
But, yeah, I really don't want to end up in the hospital. I'll talk to my doctor. Thanks for sharing your story...I appreciate it and it could save me some distress.

Ah ok, Felix doesn't look like quacks but they probably aren't as good as a family doctor either.. those places always give me the impression of being a bit of a prescription mill, but I don't have any direct experience with Felix.
The thing with Ozempic is it's a once a week injection so if it makes your stomach upset or gives you diarrhea, you're on a ride for 5-6 days. Which is usually why they ease it in with a small dosage to start.
But I bet that's what they'll do for you so I wouldn't worry about it.

Felix is fine, I have used them for certain prescriptions. Quick and efficient too. I'd check them out if they have something you are searching for in terms of a prescription. Without a family doctor (which is a growing concern in Alberta for many), they are a great option and I'd recommend them.
