Apparently Marchenko has said he has not "received a worthy offer" from the BJs.
That's an interesting cat imo. Great talent, maybe needs some grounding.

Vintage Boats still have value.

That would have been true if Lindholm hadn't turned into a pumpkin. His drop-off was as big an issue for the team as Huberdeau's.

looking at some "vintage boats", the ones that stand out to me are the SS Price and the SS Backstrom. Montreal doesn't really need the cap space this year, but that Price contract is 2 years. Backstrom makes sense considering the Capitals are up against it and it is only one year left on it.

They got desperate enough to sign end of career Andrew Ference and immediately anoint him as captain but it was already too late as Hall and Co had formed a strong locker room clique and the young guys were just out to have fun.

100%, and I've made a great many posts in the past saying that you can't just hand over the keys to a team to a bunch of youngsters, it won't work. You need some vets around to usher in the youth, and those vets should have character and the desire to be there.

There are currently ~65 D with a higher or equivalent cap hit, and that doesn't include Seider, Harley, and Lindgren as RFAs. There are additional ~30 D-men making in the $4-4.95M.
So yes, Girard is paid like a #3 while being a #4. He is probably about $500k-$1M overpaid. That said his replacement will likely be making just as much. That's why I don't see Colorado adding a significant asset. Also he's only 26, and had pretty good analytics last year.

I could see Girard popping in a better situation with more ice-time and PP duty.

Just a number...you know you want to...then the rest of us get to guess.
10?
29?
17?
11?
3?
Or even just a range...like number between 10 and 20?

Something about Zegras is really off. I would hope we stay away from him.

Kadri = Vintage Boat
Zegras / Marner = Flashy Boat
Huberdeau = Yacht
Gallagher/Andersson = 2 Boats
Starting to break the code a bit.
