That Blade Runner day was insane. It really doesn't seem too bad today.

Celebrated Square Root Day
|
Murphy's law whenever Calgary gets TV time on the golf network or NBC for Senior PGA/LPGA events we end up in a smoky haze that makes the city look just terrible on TV. LPGA would have looked stunning this week at Earl Grey with it being right above Glenmore with TV shots across the reservoir towards the mountains and nice downtown shots.

Showers/rain is great news but 22° in July sucks. Why can't we have both warm days and also moisture? In Calgary it's and either/or alternative.

It's going to be a great day for golf and walking the course.
Walking the course in 35 degree heat is not fun. I can tell you that from personal experience.

I’ve always wondered that. In other parts of the world it can rain when it’s 28. Doesn’t seem to be the case here. Maybe someone who knows about our local meteorology can explain why.

I've been thinking about my monthly weather power rankings. The tough question is whether length of day should be factored or not, but unfortunately I think it has to be. As does smoke.
Personally I've got 3 tiers:
Probably a bit of recency bias clouding this, but I think I prefer the annoying false-start cold days in May (or even June this year) to these last few weeks (though my tune might change if I had more ability to enjoy the morning and late evening right now). The 'warm' days in May are so glorious, even if they're highs of like 23.
July and August are also lame because of bugs. And my local trails and ravines are overgrown. And my main floor is too hot.
The only bad thing about the fall months is how foreboding they feel. The sunset times change so rapidly around the equinox that 8pm becomes totally dark even though it would still be awesome bike ride weather.

22 is perfect. If it was just always 22 from March until November, then -15 December to February, I'd be happy

My eldest is a roofer, so he knows your pain.
22° will be awesome. I hate summer - ok, not summer, but anything above 24° sucks. 24° can suck too, unless there's a breeze. I'm practically neon white - our family jokes are that I get sunburn off the light bulb in the oven & that I am the Queen of the Mayo Tinted White Folk.
I had a battle with the sun 10 years ago & ended up in hospital because of it - I struggle with the heat a lot sooner than I used to because of that little journey between heat exhaustion and heat stroke. With the 34°/35° weather, I was very nauseated, had bad headaches, dizziness, had other "tummy troubles", & ended up having to lay flat for a few days, while replacing ice packs every so often, placed in all the spots the hospital put them after my losing battle with the sun (neck, armpits, groin, etc). I am not built for high temps but I know others are and enjoy this heat. I just....don't. Give me spring, autumn, and winter.

Smoke is way worse now. Ash is falling in the deep SE. Watering my grass for 5 minutes outside and I smell like campfire.

I assume because it’s so frickin’ dry here
My weather app says it’s 17 percent humidity and the dew point is 4 degrees
Houston is 27, at 82 percent humidity and the dew point is 24 degrees
