People shouldn't take interwebs banter too seriously.

Coast to coast AM was a real fun listen back in the day. I feel like it is less fun now for some reason. Probably the internet's fault.

Alright obviously this whole thing is nonsense but... how is this the rumor that manages to get traction??

That's a blast from the past. Used to be George Noory, not sure if he's still on anymore. Art Bell was revered as the founder of the program and guest hosted sometimes, though I didn't really enjoy his style.

Coast to Coast used to be fun because everyone else and everything else was normal. Now Coast to Coast is tame compared to the nutbar nonense you find everywhere on the interwebs.
A single solitary rose for the Art Bell era.

A good read.

“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."

Clearly not a real letter. The rumour allegedly comes from an old Craigslist ad or something I think? where he sold or dumped off a nasty couch with questionable stains. Everyone’s having a bit of fun with the sentient cabbage patch kid

The letter isn't real. But the story stems from what Vance wrote in his book - something about sex with a couch.

That quote is not an example of an ad populum fallacy. You fail.

AP on the case. Seems it’s one of those fun things that came to life on its own like Richard Gere or Donnie Wahlberg. Anyone around 40 knows both of those without looking them up.
How did we do that without the internet? Impressive really

Vance porking a couch would give him some much needed personality, he should be owning that.

I also think long haul truckers are less bored now. The call in shows were always the best. Best one ever was a detailed explanation of mole people.

Wait, so lefties are just straight up lying and making things up? And they can get away with it? Blatant unfounded lies about a persons past? Someone should tell the Republicans to try this strategy out.

Yeah, post a quote in the "unpredictable" way that's so predictable after two other people destroyed her book first. Incredible.

The Jimmy carter one was also hilarious. Throat goat was in it and some people believed.
