Default Enmax - lock in for 5 years...

at 7 cents per kilowatt hour. Good deal? Am I right in thinking it's not going down anytime soon?

No, it isn't going down anytime soon.
If you sign up with easymax, you get the 7 cents for 5 years (i think), or if you are a single site electricity customer (no gas, usually appt or condo), it's locked in for 5 years.
You can switch anytime, so if the price goes down 3 years from, you can switch then.
It's a good deal.

Very timely thread... we just moved into our first home last month, and just this morning I was thinking about locking in at the 7 cent rate

A related question -- I currently have my natural gas through Direct Energy. Is there any benefits to switching this over to Enmax as well? It looks like I can get the 7 cent rate regardless, but if there is some kind of discount for getting both, I'd be interested

It's the Easymax program. You get $100 a year if you get both gas and electricity through Enmax.

Thanks... I guess I'm supposed to read the fine print I just thought that was some kind of marketing ploy (showing that you'd save $100 based on Enmax rates) -- I didn't realize they would actually pay you $100 each year Looks like it's time to switch!

Easymax definitely worth it. I usually save my money then apply the credit to when the bill is the Highest which is during the winter months.

If you only get Electricity (Single Site) then you don't get the $100 / year savings.
