The debate coming in September will now be between Trump and whomever the Democrats select this August right? Surely, the nominee will be able to have a better debate performance than what happened a few weeks ago. Or even just have enough clarity to call Trump out on his lies.

I certainly don't think it's too late. Maybe the US will learn something about how insanely long their election cycle is. This whole saga is full of unprecedented things like overturning rights, presidential immunity, legitimate coup attempt, near assassination, huge consequential wars breaking out, a major political party eating itself alive followed by another to pressure their own incumbent to step aside.
No one can predict what happens now, but it will definitely be interesting to watch. I'm glad he stepped aside. Zero confidence he could beat Trump. Honestly I think we may find out that it was Trump who could ONLY defeat Biden. He won't be able to attack a different candidate the same way.

I have a funny feeling that the democrats are going to split over Harris and Newsome. I also have a funny feeling that American's won't embrace either candidates.

I think the Dems should nominate Dwayne Johnson: he can play the alpha male better than Trump, he can say that is from outside the political establishment and point to Trumps age as well…and as VP candidate, how about Stormy Daniels
