The other sliding doors moment is, what if the NFL allowed Trump to buy the Buffalo Bills. He probably doesn't run for president in that universe.

Imagine a world where Gore doesn’t get screwed out of Florida. Or gets an extra 500 votes.
Maybe no 9/11, no patriot act, real climate change initiatives, supreme court looks different, no tea party, no palin, no trump.
Likely no Obama either but that’s a trade off I’m willing to make. Our world would be insanely different. All because some stupid Floridians didn’t vote and ruined the timeline.

I’m with you. Anyone who changes their opinion after being presented with new information is the worst kind of coward. You definitely should dig those posts up and tell those stupid idiots off like a champion. Opinions are like sports teams: once you pick one you stick with it until the bitter end. Biden forever!!!!

Interesting. I think 9/11 still happens. Clinton was already trying to locate Bin Laden. Bin Laden bombed the US Embassy in Africa in 1998. USS Cole in 2000.
He was already declaring holy wars

And it's not like the stuff is shipped very far. The stuff I got comes from a farm like 30 km away. I imagine it's the same thing in Calgary.
Come to think of it now, I wonder if they did charge me for organic prices by a mistake, because the price seems pretty outrageous.

This reminds me of playing Skyrim and the NPCs call you "milk drinker" as an insult. Personally I don't drink milk, but a lot of recipes call for it and my kid can't have her Sugar Crisp without it.

Could have been different, though. Bush ignored warnings of the attack. Gore might have prevented it.

The US right wing went nuts once slavery was abolished. Ever since, their craziness flares up every few decades like a bad case of herpes.

Is the reason products like bread and beef are more expensive in the states compared to here due to US supply management systems?

IIRC, a lot of blame was based on a poor transition between Clinton and Bush. Intelligence did not get acted upon or flagged appropriately as the right people weren't notified or set-up properly. Say what you want about Bush, but he did try to fix that with the handover to Obama.

Maybe, but Bush was warned directly in 2001, so perhaps different issues.

lol this is the strangest defence of supply management I have ever seen. Beef prices are not consistently higher in the US and will ebb and flow with demand and herd sizes.
You can argue that the US subsidizes agriculture and their poultry and dairy prices are artificially low but there is zero argument that Canada's supply management system places the burden on Canadian's to subsidize dairy and poultry producers.
Chicken should be the cheapest protein available but in Canada it is more expensive than pork which makes zero sense given their respective lifecycles and animal production methods. It should be Beef > Pork > Chicken.
Dairy is also crazy expensive and the cheese selection is sad.

Apparently the Associated Press is warning people not to use that iconic image of Trump for merchandising purposes because they have the rights to it.
