Absolutely. Reality TV would get a better reputation if all the reality shows involved the contestants being told exactly how stupid they are. And the contestants on Hell's Kitchen are closer to real life people then the wannabe actors on Survivor and Big Brother.

Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares are on Food Network at 8PM Mountain Time on Sundays.
Food Networks also shows reruns of Hell's Kitchen uncensored.

Agreed. Ramsey is simply over the top in a kitchen environment...especially his kitchen. But that's how he was trained and how many chefs have been trained.
Hell's Kitchen to me isn't any more over the top than Kitchen nightmares. The difference with Kitchen Nightmares is that the kitchen scenes are not the majority of the airtime. There is tasting the food, talking to the owner, changing decor, getting the front of the house in order etc. Much of the kitchen airtime is him observing to see what needs to be corrected. But if there is incompetence in the kitchen he lets it be known just as much as he does in Hell's Kitchen and with the same vocabulary.
This to me sounds like a lawsuit born out of fear that any popularity or increase in traffic the restaurant might have seen may be countered by the fact they were so incompetent they had spoiled meat.

Yup your right. Maybe it was last week or the week before, but they were showing reruns of the show during the week at 11pm. Guess they have stopped doing that.

The only times they seem to show him being reasonable, with the demeanour you see in Kitchen Nightmares, is when the team that wins the reward challenge and they're hanging out with him. Last year they would show more time of that. Ramsay would tell the contestants what it's like to be a good chef and the qualities it takes to run a restaurant, etc. This season they show about 2 and a half seconds of that and then cut to the girls saying "Oh my god, Ramsay is so so hot! Tee Hee!"

I don't really agree. He is more than willing to provide praise in Hell's Kitchen when it is deserved (this season not much praise has been deserved) and you see that side of him in the rewards. And like the previous two seasons you will see that more and more as the weaker contestants are eliminated.
It's a different show. Hell's Kitchen is focused primarily on the kitchen (good or bad) whereas Nightmares is focused on several other things (and keep in mind on nightmares many of the chefs can actually cook and have culinary training...the ones that don't look out!)

They do?? Sweet!!
Presonally, Kitchen Nightmares is a better show than Hell's Kitchen, but both are some of my favorite TV on right now.
I don't know why, but I'm a sucker for anything on FoodTV.

I watch both shows, and enjoy both for many different reasons. But people have to remember, Kitchen Nightmares is a reality show, but probably is not pushed as much to get ratings becasue there aren't many shows that rival it.
Whereas the Fox run, Hell's Kitchen, is requesting he goes all out ballistic to get the bulk of ratings, on what is a slow Monday night.
But really, they gave him a complete bunch of idiots this year on Hell's Kitchen....I mean there's no way some of these people cook as a career. But it is entertaining.

I'm pretty sure they were very selective with their choices of chefs. Only 2-3 of them seem to be real contenders and the rest just seem to be there for entertainment value.
Hell's Kitchen provides cheap laughs and it is enjoyable for the melodrama, but it makes it kind of hard to take seriously as a real cooking contest.
Top Chef and Iron Chef are better to watch if you actually want to see chefs with a clue.

I enjoy Bobby Flay's "Throwdown" as well - though Flay himself kinda irritates me.

Bobby Flay is growing on me. When I first saw him on the Iron Chef (Japanese) he came across a very unlikeable person. The more I watch his shows (except iron chef america) the more tolerable he get. I just think when he is in kitchen stadium his desire to win really comes across and makes him look like a prick.

I've seen it once. Pretty interesting. I'd agree Flay can come off pretty badly. In the espisode I watched he chose to challenge a donutmaker during that guy's donut promotion party. It seemed like a move designed to try and show the guy up in front of his friends and customers. Flay lost anyway.

I like Bobby Flay's Throwdown as well, I think it's funny that he usually loses. His style of cooking really appeals to me though.
I agree with Madman, we watch a lot of Food TV in our house, there are a lot of shows on this channel that we like.

Like many French chefs, Ramsay follows the classical approach to running a kitchen, where you're part of a brigade rather than just an assembly line of poor cooks. I've worked for two chefs in Calgary who use a similar style, one of which worked for Ramsay a while back and is the only CCC Chef I've worked for. (Certified Chef de Couisine) It's tough for most people to deal with but it's honestly one of the best methods to run a kitchen properly. That bravado is a good way to motivate your brigade, pushing each of your cooks to do their best.

So with the finale coming up, who's gonna win Hell's Kitchen. The Blonde or the Rock? I am pulling for Rock, I just can think this nanny can run a restaurant at a 5 star resort.
It should be a good show.

The Rock has been head and shoulder's above the rest from the start. It will be a travesty if he loses.

Am I the only one that doesn't like either choice? I can't say I believe either deserves it.
