That was much more stressful than I thought it was going to be
4 Slam titles and with no real peer (Sinner maybe) I'm starting to believe Senator that 30 Slams is reachable.

I really think grass is Charlie's best surface although he's no slouch on clay either. Hard courts might be the best chance for other guys (like Meddy although with each passing year that window is closing) to win slams. Sinner is fantastic although questions remain about his conditioning and stamina. That will likely get better hopefully in the future.

Nobody else loves tennis so much that they’d purposely #### up triple championship point just to give everyone some more. What a gift to the sport.

I interpret it as Carlos not dropping as many levels as everyone else does on grass. I still think Fed is the one true natural on lawn, and everyone else just tries to manage it. I think Carlos ends up with roughly equal distribution across the slams.

On the subject of loving tennis, crazy that Steven Diez is still out there at ITF 25K events...

Gotta think he'll get a few looks at a calendar slam, Sinner has definitely elevated his game past where I thought it could get, but he's still several levels below Carlos at this point, and again that prime is still to come. Still easily the most complete player I've ever seen at this age, he can win so many ways already.

Has Djokovic won his last major? It's crazy to think considering just last year he was a tie break away from the calendar slam.

He’ll probably need a draw where he avoids both Alcaraz and Sinner. Unlikely but tennis is chaos incarnate sometimes

How were they expected to slow dance to that
I hope Carlos remains that awkward goofy kid forever

I wonder if Carlos ends up being the unifying force in fandom for all the Roger/Rafa/Nole fans looking for a new home for the next 15 years. Hardcore Fed and Nadal fans had trouble jumping on each other's bandwagons until the very end, and Djoker has always been divisive to varying degrees. Maybe if Sinner rises to the occasion and becomes the other All Time Great then there'll be more of a split, but at the moment is there any significant anti-Alcaraz segment in the tennis world at all?

There is a small but very vocal group of Novak fans on social media who are always looking to tear down Charlie. I would argue that they are more Novak fans than tennis fans. It will be interesting to see their reaction as the years go by and Charlie is getting closer to the Big 3 grand slam title numbers. I'm thinking it will be a combination of hilarious yet very annoying at the same time.

Sinner just isn't very dynamic on or off the court. Great player and person but he doesn't have the same make up as Nadal or Djokovic that will split the fandom. Medvedev has a great personality he's the only current player I can see poaching fans from Charlie.

TIL Thiem is retiring. Such a shame at just age 30. At least he got a slam.
