The thing is, I don't believe he is going to be worth anywhere near 4.5 million. The more term you offer him at anywhere near that figure, the worse the deal gets for the team.
The plain fact is, players get traded for second-round picks all the time. It would be very easy to find a player of similar quality without having to overpay him.
I've said it before: Offer sheets combine the worst features of UFA signings and trades. You pay too much money, and you still have to give up assets for the player. That's what makes them so rare.

E=NG aside, and there's plenty of it in that interview, that was a pretty cool episode to listen to. I had no idea Souray was struggling with so many demons. Always inspirational to hear someone come out of a hole like that.

Generally speaking, low key is more wholesome IMO. Not everything has to be a glamorous photo op.

I saw it was big news on Sportsnet today that Draisaitl and his fiance announced that they are getting married. It's funny how a lot of players just do it and you never hear about it. No official public announcements, you just find out when training camp starts if at all.
To be fair, this isn't specifically a Draisaitl thing, a lot of celebrities feel the need to do this. Plus, it could have been his future wife who is an actress.
