So you're going to sign Kylington with term so you can have an 8th D on the roster? Even though Brzustewicz, Grushnikov, Poirier, and probably Jurmo are literally right in the building and can be called up at any time without waiver issues?
When did I say term? The poster I referenced suggested circling back on a lesser deal

The thing is – I don't believe he's going to sign here without term.

I don't believe he'll sign anywhere on this side of the pond with term.

His roster spot has already been filled.
He’s a better player than Pachal or Solovyov. I’m not saving a roster spot for those guys over OK.

But if he won’t sign a very short term deal, I’m not interested.

He's also several years older than either of them, and there's no telling whether he'll be able to play a full season.

At this point, Kylington is the kind of veteran the Flames need to move on from.

But kylington chose to prioritize another opportunity.

It’s his right to do so. And it’s also Conroy’s right to interpret that choice as a preference to be elsewhere.

If Kylington can get comfortable with a fish bowl, I could see Treliving offering him a modest deal and plays with Tanev.

It's also possible to keep 8 defensemen
The risk is losing Solo and then Kylington doesnt show up one day

Yes it was Tanev, it was also Sutter who put him and that pairing in good situations. And that translated into a better looking OK, and, rejuvenated Tanev 's career to an extent as well.

Same went for Gudbranson and Zadorov, and both of those men also owe Sutter some of their subsequent pay checks for the way he deployed them to help set the team, and the players personally, up for statistical success which lead to much more lucrative contracts years later.

Edwards and all the other owners didn't get into their positions by letting their business interests spend more than what they earn. The NHL's big spenders likely spend a lower percentage of their total revenue than many of their mid-level counterparts, they just have more resources to pay for their mistakes. Even in a new rink the Flames are still going to be down the list in terms of revenue. Unless you are a fan of the team...they're the type of team where a casual fan will think...that city has a team...where is that place. Not so sure Calgarians are going to constantly fork out a grand to see a game like people in Edmonton do.
I'm a fan of the Calgary Flames. I will never get this 'lets make an excuse for the billionaire owners'. The Flames are far from a poor team who I'm sure have revenue closer to the top of the league than the bottom.

You are incorrect about revenue

I'm going to predict a 2yr/1.25m AAV contract in Florida. Makes some sense as they've lost Montour and OEL, and makes sense for Kylington too (great team, no state taxes, Bennett/Tkachuk connection).
