Saying he is undoubtedly the Panthers 2nd most important players is just not true. There is certainly valid arguments to be made
Ask NHL GM's who they would take between the 2 of them and i dont think it is close, they pick MT all day. If you are going by stats only, then Hyman is better than almost every one in the league?

Yes. I would have thought it was crazy. 29 year old wingers aren't worth 10.5 Million.

Never thought about where the phrase “lost in translation” comes from, huh?

In any event, I think Tkachuk is clearly behind Barkov and Bobrovsky in importance to the team. You can make an argument about Ekblad v. Tkachuk I think.

I'm not the one speaking in absolutes.

It's certainly arguable between the two, and it's very likely that is just the argument to who is the 4th most important player on that team, never mind Tkachuk just straight up being #2 behind Barkov because someone here claims it to be.

Yeah, the trade wasnt 1 for 1.

It was Tkachuk for Huderdeau, Weegar and a 1st.

The trade was fine. It was giving away the pick and signing the worst contract in the NHL that stinks.

So...torches and pitchforks?

I just fueled the torches and the pitchforks are freshly sharpened. When do we riot? I just have to get the scheduling in order.

well I strongly disagree...again did you watch the SCF?
4 other Panthers go Conn Smythe Votes not Tkachuk

I am talking now...not talking age or contracts ect.

Bob was at worst the #2 or #3 reason they won the cup. Forsling might be a top 3 shut down D in the entire NHL. To say it's not even close is obvious bias. Bob turning from a 10M backup to a top 5 goalie was the biggest factor in their change of fortunes. Without that they are 1 or maybe 2 rounds deep at best.

Anyway it wasn't even a knock at Tkachuk I was showing how much depth they have. If Tkachuk stayed and the Flames won the cup he would have to be the Conn Smythe winner or at least in the convo. No 3 point 7 game series.

With the hard-on the media has for McDavid it didn't really matter.

Frankly, they need a more reliable voter base and/or routine to make it more quantifiable.

Look at most of the Hockey media! Most of those guys dont know anything. It'd be more reliable if the players voted and even that would be sketchy as all hell.

If you're going to let every talking-head vote you might as well make it a fan vote. If its going to be an incompetent circus it may as well be a genuine Circus. Go for all 3 rings! Why half-ass it?

Literally. Some of you guys here seem to forget that it’s originally in French. And it’s crazy to me that there are barely any negative comments about him on Reddit, where on a Calgary Flames biased forum Huberdeau gets crucified. Sheesh.

Lmfao. My point about the interview being in French is it’s never a 1:1 direct translation to another language. Nuances aren’t translated 100%. So I’m saying to cut him some slack.

I think he tries hard but this comment doesn't really hit. He was a team worst -29 last year. Him and Yegor both and they were out there to only produce points it seemed.

I thought I was going to produce points, that it would go well, but the more defensive game system didn’t help.

The worst part is that 2 years in, he's still blaming everything around him. It's a loser attitude.

He's on a bad team because he played so bad it forced the front office into a rebuild. There is literally no one on this forum that wouldn't give him away for future considerations to any team that would take him.
He's on a bad team because Treliving as a GM is a poor hockey mind. He was adding Huby's and Kadri's points together and thought he was getting close to replacing Guadreau and Tkachuk without taking into account what kind of player Huby is.

Conroy hit a HR with Sherengovich because he identified attributes that were misused in NJ and offered an different opportunity here. Treliving brining in Huby was contra to that taking into account Sutter was his coach and the Huby's game wasn't going to = 115 pts or PPG.

Dude...I know.

I'm fluent in French and read the French version. This is a nothing-burger.

Just a hockey-player saying hockey-player things. The only thing he left out was 'get pucks in deep.'

Yeah. He is under-performing especially in light of his contract. And yes, that sucks. But as far as a Flames fan is concerned? We aren't going to be any good during the duration of the contract anyways so...who cares?
