It's pretty incredible what an extra 6" of insulation has done for our house, heating up only about 0.5 degrees every few hours. Might actually use the heat pump to cool the house later today.

Imagine the savings in heating/cooling/power grid if we just started doing this for all new builds...

I assume this is just the attic? Or are there more areas of your home than the attic that you added the 6" of insulation?

Full exterior reno last year, added 2 layers of 3" rockwool insulation to the outside of the house and new windows and doors.

YouTube recommended this video to me. This guy used to work for the Weather Network and the video has very detailed forecast info for weather nerds.

Unfortunately it looks like we're not going to get much in the way of thunderstorms this week, although hopefully that changes.

30° is not particularly pleasant but I don't wish it was cooler for the simple fact that 6 months ago it was -30° and 6 months from now it'll be the same... so I'll enjoy it actually feeling like summer for the couple weeks we get it.

I do feel for the people in my building who don't have a/c though, just got home and my place is 29°. The upper floors must be cooking.

It's super humid for Calgary at this time of the year. Better?

If you're setting the line at July 29, I'm taking the under for sure. I can hardly remember the last summer we went 3 straight weeks without a whiff of smoke.
