No.
Top-10 player in the world is Parekh’s ceiling.

Not with the skating ability he has. He’s gonna be special.

Prior to the hype train really hitting the tracks I thought Zayne Parehk was the second best player in the draft. Even when the hype started to build around different players I held firm to that belief and saw more and more to substantiate that call. I think people are going to look back at this draft and will not believe Parehk was not drafted higher and in the top three.

I think my personal lens of what a prospect is or isn't doesn't line up with the majority of CP. To me it's more of "who is ready to step into the NHL" vs who has the highest "ceiling."
On that basis, I went with Wolf.

Parekh is the only right answer for number 1 prospect in the Flames system.
I still have serious questions about Wolf being a starting goalie in the NHL. First of all there is no way he is 6' tall. There is picture of him Jakob Pelletier standing beside each other and Wolf was barely the same height. He's not just small for a goaltender, he is tiny, he makes Saros look massive. THat being said he does slide in at number 2, because you can't take away what he has done at lower levels, and I am hopeful that he will figure it out at the NHL level, he just leaves a lot of net open due to his size.

2 votes for Lipinski? 2 of you have a lot more faith in him than I do, lol
Zayne easily for me this round. Kid looks good.

I went Wolf, but the temptation to go Parekh was there for sure.

Parekh is a shiny new toy, but Wolf is definitely the best prospect on that list.

Could Lipinski fever vault him into the top 5 Flames prospects?

I think Lipinski flat out outplayed Honzek this year, on the same team.
But I wouldn't vote Lipinski this high due to questions about his ceiling .

It is just nice to see such a deep prospect list. I suspect the Flames have 7-8 NHL players on that list minimum.

Chicago could’ve taken him at 2 and it would have been a great pick. The first time I watched his highlight pack, I thought “huh, kid’s gonna tear #### up with Bedard” and moved onto a different prospect since I wasn’t gonna waste time scouting players we weren’t gonna be in position to draft.
When a bunch of outlets had him between 5-8, I thought he was the one player in the top-10 you trade up for if you have to, since I didn’t see him getting by Ottawa, under any circumstances.
But if he did somehow get by Ottawa, I had hoped Seattle would take Catton since they probably saw all his games this year and presumably knew how good he is.
We couldn’t get Iggy, we couldn’t get the centre, but we may have the best player of all of them.

I can concur. You were willing to trade the farm to move up a few spots for Parekh!
Glad Calgary didn't trade up and equally glad we got your man at number 9. Now, let's see him become that top 10 player.

How do you figure. Parekh has a pretty high ceiling. I guess it depends on your criteria.
If Parekh turns into a Hughes type player than it is homerun at 9. It is going to be interesting watching him develop. I think Wolf still has some things to prove at the NHL level. Parekh, like it or not, comes with some high pick pedigree.

You could be right, but time will tell. What I will say is that when we were on the clock and they were both available I was excited at the thought of getting either.
As far as the two votes for Lipinski - anyone know if his parents post on CP lol? Definitely not above the likes of Wolf, and a few others for me but I'm sure I'll have him around 5-10. Saw him play a few times this last season and was very impressed.

Yeah, it’s kind of crazy, but sometimes your highest draft pick in 8 years is, in fact, your best prospect. Who knew?
And while there are valid cases for Wolf, you only have to watch Parekh for a few minutes to see why the excitement around him has very, very little to do with him being “new.”

Parekh and it's not even close. He has superstar potential.
