This was a big draft for the Habs after minimal participation over the last few seasons. A lot of our prospects were graduating to the NHL. Having 3 top 10 picks 5 in the top 20 really restocked the cupboards. This is evident by 6/10 of our top prospects coming from this draft.

Our roster is also under transition with some younger guys taking strong steps in their development last season. Juraj Slafkovsky, Alexis Lafreniere and JJ Peterka all had breakout seasons and will find themselves in a bigger role in the CPHL this year.

Scott Wheeler has just released his top 100 drafted prospects, so I thought this was interesting to compare. He considers Poitras graduated after playing in the NHL last season, but the other 6 of my top 7 listed here are on there. Ranking is similar, just got Blake over Casey.
