Also, don't forget, when you post in that one thread defending women and children being slaughtered you'll have people follow you around like snufflepagus that seethe but won't ever debate you just follow you around and thank any post against you.
You have haters which means you're doing something right.

I thought this one was especially deserving of dismantling.

The length of time some posters go to assert their position, which ever it may be, on a friggen hockey message board is truly astounding to me lol. Believe what you want to believe but 40 pages of bickering with little talk about the person in the thread title outside of their recent personal battles is vintage CP. Take all that away and Kylington could still go where ever he wants because he’s earned that right as a UFA. Can we not talk about what we’d be losing if he decides to sign elsewhere and what we stand to gain if he stays? I for one feel like it’s best if Kylington moves on at this point with the sudden logjam of defensive prospects knocking on the door, fresh start too for OK would be the best direction considering everything he’s been through the past few years.
My best bet is he ends up in Florida on a 1 year deal and that’s completely fine. I also understand why he and his team are pushing for a 2 year, last I checked there is still months of UFA so there is no rush for OK.

lol I appreciate it, but I’m not doing anything particularly right or special, just enjoying myself.
Someone posts a certain way, I’ll respond in kind. If a little group of sad guys who had a taste of that medicine once and didn’t like it and have never gotten over it want to pick on me out of that equation, go wild.
I’m sure it takes a lot of courage for them to post that stuff, considering how much they build me up in their head. They’re the ones that deserve encouragement and a pat on the back. It can’t be easy for them.

No, we must instead discuss the definition of words and the psychological drive behind our positions.

Speculating about a person’s motivations and desires is fruitless in any situation, let alone one where mental health factors contribute. Speculation pertaining to UFA salary and term offers are fair game. In this case, I think it has been reported that the Flames make an offer. Not sure if it is reporting or speculation, but term seems to be the issue. If this is accurate, I think it is entirely fair to suggest that OK made a mistake in how he handled the negotiation. Neither party owes the other anything, it if OK ends up with a 1 year minimum or a PTO, that is a clear mistake.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

I kind of wish he would sign somewhere so this topic could go away. It's clear both sides have decided to turn the page and that's totally fine.

The Bean signing pretty much eliminated his spot with the Flames, coupled with Craig’s very subtle hint that both sides have decided to move on should settle it here. Yea he said no door is closed because it’s the right thing to say, they never want to exile a player from the team but as far at this years concerned he’s not going to be back.

The assumption throughout this thread (and on Barnburner) was that Kylington was looking for a contract with more term than what the Flames were offering. That may well be true, but there may be a simpler explanation.
Oliver Kylington may not want to play hockey anymore.
This is an anathema to everyone on this site. Millions of dollars to play hockey is a lottery win. But he may be actually doing the most “stand up” thing he can. Not signing because he doesn’t want to play again, or even just isn’t sure. If he signs there is obligation there.
It may be the most reasonable answer, and not a case of greed, selfishness, or even “business”.

Unpopular opinion, but I agree. His skating talent was apparent. But he never really developed much else and always needed muscle (which he never got time to put on). His big injury was caused by some really off balance play.
I’d have been good with a two year “show me” term. But I also totally understand a one year offer. He put in one really decent season and the others were not exactly mindblowing.

Before July 1 his agent said he and the team exchanged offers. That sounds like he wants to play.

Didn’t get the feeling that’s what was going on. Sounded like they just couldn’t come to terms

Whatever anyone thinks about the way things are going now, I think the thing that feels the most disappointing is that without a contract, the fans don't get the ultimate Flame-Kylington happy ending.
Hockey is a tough business.

Calgaryblood Zary's-Moustache, the only reason you enjoy it is because he is doing it to someone that is all over you and targeting you at the moment. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, right?

On a very related note to this thread, I got me one of them fancy MX Master 3S mice.
Nice, ergonomic but the neatest feature is the scroll wheel. You can spin that sucker and it just zooms past posts. It is almost as awesome as PepsiFree.
