Pederson had 2 decent seasons with the Canucks. He wasn’t that close to a 82 PPG pace. It really doesn’t compare to a HOF career and Wesley.

You must realize there is a huge gap between the best trade ever and a C-. Talk about a disingenuous statement. I never implied it was a poor trade, you simply made that up.

It's a great trade, but I wouldn't put it ahead of a HOF player and a 21 year excellent dman, who was eventually traded for 3 first round picks.

GM Conroy is a beauty and at the moment, this trade is already a massive win. But in as soon as 3-4 years, it could turn into an absolute landslide haul for the Flames. Going to be very fun as Flames fans to follow the trade tree!

I just really, really wanted is to no re-sign Lindholm, so I'm sort of in the same camp.

I like Lindholm, but the makeup of this team is awful. Another long-term, big-dollar contract to an ageing veteran? That was not going to be pretty.

What we got out of moving him? Now that I think has potential.

Assuming the trade for Lindholm is why the team struggled is a really neat way to try and blame Lindholm for two or three injuries (including Lindholm's own) that occurred after the fact. They got Lindholm to play with Petey. They realized there was no chemistry there so they looked at a move to try and find a natural winger while only moving off of Lindholm. They couldn't find that, so they happily went on with Lindholm who came back for the play-offs healthy and found a role on the 3rd line. I guess you're used to Treliving who continues to buy into sunk cost even now. Personally, I like having a GM willing to say "Nope, that wasn't it" and quickly move on to try something else.



Once it was apparent Lindholm wasn't going to work on the wing, there was no real shot at Lindholm re-signing. He was asking for over 6 and that was just never a number the Canucks were going to give their #3 center. In the end, he ended up where everyone assumed he was going to end up back in October of last year, which is Boston.

I have zero issues with the trade at the time and think it was a good move. I have zero issues with the trade now as Lindholm showed up and performed in the play-offs.

Wasn't what they expected him to be and part of why they looked into flipping him for Guentzel. In the end he performed great in the play-offs and that's what makes the deal feel alright.

The 'Nucks were dealt a rough hand. The entire League basically screwed the Pooch and they thought they were a couple pieces from making a run.

And then the whole House of Cards came tumbling down around them.
