Gaudreau expected more offers on the market...and didn't get them. His career has been in the dumps ever since, he was the 2nd overall scorer in the league when he left...now he isn't even a top 50 player (top 100?) This is exactly the point. You really think OK is gonna get that 2.5M range with term?
Players are free to do whatever they choose but thinking you will get a better offer down the line doesn't always work out. I think the best offer OK gets in this free agency period is the one he already turned down.
He would also have a huge opportunity with the Flames to play a lot and put up numbers that would actually put him in a position to demand a nice contract next time.

Honestly this is so true. As soon as a Flames player leaves he is awful but as soon as he wears that flaming C he will defend him to the death. That's how you know you can't argue with someone like that.

Where?

That situation only arose in your fevered imagination. Nobody, and I mean nobody, says that the Flames could have agreed to let him stay home and then punished him.

It's very simple and yet you continue to fail to understand and argue points I've never said.

You keep bringing this up in the context of whether the Flames deserve credit for the way they handled Kylington. You use it as an argument against people who say the Flames treated Kylington better than they needed to. Don't pretend otherwise.
Everyone you are arguing against knows perfectly well that the Flames agreed to let Kylington stay home. Nobody has said otherwise. So what the hell are you even arguing about?

No I think Kylington will regret it but like I said you made it seem like multiple Flames players regretted not signing here.
News flash. Calgary isn't a great place to play and there are other things to life than money that players take into account.

The literal post I replied to before you once again butted in to a argument you weren't part of.
People keep saying the Flames could have suspended Kylington. Under the facts of what happened they couldn't have.
I could go to jail for robbing a bank but until I rob a bank I can't go to jail.
Flames could have suspended Kylington if he robbed a bank too or if he didn't show up without permission.
Neither happened so they couldn't have suspended him. Hopefully that clears it up for you.

You are the one not reading anything I say
he's so awful I have said multiple times that I would give him 1x2M and be happy to do it.
Its you guys who have no real argument against any of my valid points that have to resort to "you hate ex Flames"
I don't like Gaudreau and Tkachuk for how they left...Tkachuk redeemed himself by beating the Oilers. I have no problem with any other ex Flame.

As a person that has suffered with depression and addiction it's absolutely TERRIFYING to know that some of you people are out there.
I'm reading some monstrously soul-crushing stuff.

slowly so you can follow
I said they all ended up with way less money for those who can't comprehend "their bank accounts didn't age well"
Lindholm demanded 72M from the Flames and he signed for 52.45M with the Bruins

The FIRST fact of what happened is that they CHOSE to give permission. I'm not the only one who has tried to explain this to you, but you are incapable of understanding that THEY MADE A CHOICE FREELY.

That's another ridiculous analogy. You're very bad at making them.

They could have refused permission in the first place. You talk as if the permission was cast in stone and they never, ever had any choice in the matter. That is wrong, and the rest of your argument which follows on from that point is invalid.
What people are TALKING ABOUT is their choice to take the high road from the very beginning. It is silly to point out that once on that road, they were no longer on the other road – or to act as if the other road didn't exist and was never an option, which is what you are, in effect, arguing.

That's what happens when a guy who keeps getting lifetime suspensions keeps weaseling his way back. He always starts out the same holding back for a while until he goes right back to the way he always is. Then we get #### show after #### show. Back to calling people liars and saying things are facts that are not. Same old Spurs.

I know they could have refused but they didn't. I understand that. Do you understand they did agree?
Again I'll use the analogy of kids asking for permission to stay past curfew. Parents don't have to agree but when they do agree of free will they can't come back and punish the kid for staying past their curfew.
The Flames had a choice if they wanted to let Kylington stay home and they did. Nobody has said they didn't have the choice to deny his request. If they did then he could have showed up to camp and still not be suspended.

Irrelevant to anything I have said here...everything I have said in this thread is spot. You have no legitimate argument so its "you hate ex flames"
meanwhile I am saying I would sign him if I were the GM and hope the Flames do so.
To a ONE YEAR CONTRACT.

I already understand your stance and I get it, but you can probably take a break from broadly defending the position that includes some pretty insidious and insipid ####. We already get where you're coming from so maybe try not to get bogged down in some of this muck.

I mean, you do hate ex Flames lol. You trash them constantly to the point where it’s a running gag.
And who cares what’s being said on facebook? or reddit? Seriously, if you need to justify what you’re saying by saying “someone said it worse on facebook!” then it’s probably a stupid thing to say in the first place.
