totally agree on Pelletier esp but also Wolf, I'd consider them for this exercise. would be disappointing for any or all of these 2 (and Coronato) if this is still a discussion point a year from now
also agree while it might be interesting to see where Cooley slots I don't think he should be considered- even given goalie caveats

Pelletier has played more in the NHL that Wolf has. So if Pelletier is still a prospect, than Wolf is too.
I think they both should be in this poll.
Wolf very likely makes the team, but I don't think its a given than both Coronato and Pelletier make the team out of camp. If a prospect isn't a "lock" they should be on this list.

Include Coronato, Pelletier and Wolf in this discussion for sure. They are still going to be coming to camp to cement a spot.
Cooley is older and shouldn’t be part of the discussion

We have no idea what guys like Pelletier, Coronato & Wolf are yet and they definitely still haven't officially graduated to the big club to lose the prospect status. They all absolutely belong on the list. No to Cooley.

Cooley out. Too old.
Coronato, Wolf and Pellietier in. None have made the club fulltime as yet.

I am not sure but after last season I think he earned an NHL 2 way.

Coronato and Pelletier have both played enough NHL games that they are no longer eligible for the Calder Trophy. Should that be a factor?
Koumontzis & Boltmann are both 4+ years post draft and haven't signed contracts. They're never going to be in the plans. Koumontzis was drafted 6 years ago and played last season in the ECHL for Dallas' affiliate. I think it's safe to drop them.

I'd probably list both as prospects for these purposes.

Disagree. Once a player has played more than 9 NHL games to me that guy is no longer a prospect.

See I’m on the opposite end of that spectrum I think. I prefer to see a player stick for a full season before I consider them an NHLer/career AHLer vs a prospect, but she is a factor too
I was tempted to say we could still include Zary in this but I’m leaning no for Zary
Yes for Pelletier and Coronato, and wolf for this one

I would remove Koumontzis for sure, I don't think they still have his rights. Boltmann is debatable at least.
Would also include both Wolf and Coronato for sure — makes it far more interesting.

It’s simple for me. A prospect is any player with Calder trophy eligibility.

I would prefer to see best U25 players going forward. In the next few seasons, the turnover of vets and prospects will be much higher, and there will be slim pickings among those who are still Calder eligible.

I’d like to say any guy who can still bust should be a prospect. That would include Coronato and wolf.
But then that means Sam Bennett would have been on this list until the day he was traded.
I like 23 and under but must have played less than 50 nhl games.

I think anyone that isn't on the last year of their ELC is a prospect. If they happen to play in the NHL, then they are a good prospect. I could probably even be able to be convinced that any player on an ELC should be considered a prospect.

I still think the simplest and most consistent way to define it is best players 23 and under.
It's the best way to gauge the young depth and prospect pool within an organization.

U24 makes sense to me. 23 and younger basically. If you’re 24 and not in the show, I’d say your chances of being an impact players are slim unless you’re a goalie.
