Somewhere in Ghostbusters Frozen Empire there is a good movie but it mostly fell flat. There were charming moments and loved James Acaster but the whole family dynamic isn't needed.

Watched the new 4K release of Purple Rain (amazing transfer)and this movie remains one of my favorites, plus it has the best movie soundtrack of all time. Prince is so cool in this, I'm still mad at myself for not going to his concert when he was in Calgary.
Saw some great movies and some disappointing ones recently:
Great movies:
Incendies - Denis Villeneuve, 2010 - Incredible movie. Cannot believe it took me this long to see it.
Past Lives - A beautiful about the life of an immigrant, how they essentially have two lives and two worlds that they need to navigate. And how messy that can be when those worlds intersect.
Nocturnal Animals - Surprised me with how much I enjoyed this movie. A very intense movie wth some frightening scenes. Michael Shannon steals this one.
Disappointing:
The Bikeriders: What a cast: Tom Hardy, Austin Butler, Michael Shannon even a Norman Reedus sighting. But wow this movie just felt dull and empty. The lack of chemistry between everyone just made the movie feel lifeless. There was no real central conflict to capture your attention. This is a movie set in the late 60s and early 70s and there was almost no soundtrack or score. What a missed opportunity. Also I am still unsure if Austin Butler is a good actor or not.
Unfrosted: Seinfeld movie about cereal was pretty tame and pretty forgettable.

If you're looking for an amazing neo noir thriller, check out Red Rock West. Nic Cage stars as a down on his luck drifter looking for a job when he goes into a bar and the bartender mistakes him for a hitman and offers him $10,000 to kill his wife. Not going to spoil anything, it's best to go into blind. If you like films like Fargo, this has similar vibes.

I just recently rewatched the Harry Potter movies, which I don't recommend (they got progressively worse imo), but in the Deathly Hallows Part 2, I was really reminded what an incredible actor Alan Rickman was. He was the best part of that movie by far - able to express so much without a word, and then his tone when he does his speak is like a whole language.
Really miss him as an actor.

Costner has quite the balls to have 4 of these planned, 2nd is already shot and coming out in Aug. There is nothing to hate, I love the cast and every scene is very well done. Just watching Utah on the screen is worth it, I didn't mind the runtime but they barely scratched the surface of each story and there was a lot of jumping around. The "coming soon" montage at the end was amusing.
Kinds of Kindness is even more bizarre than The Lobster or Killing of a Sacred Deer, it was unpredictable as hell which made it fun but I can't say I loved it. I read a few reviews after the fact that explain some of the confusing parts, but haven't been intrigued enough to give it more thought.
Independence Day is the perfect summer action flick, it still holds up really well. A total blast from beginning to end this is one of my favorite movies ever.

You can just go ahead and skip the sequel. Trust me.
