Thanks for posting that story, I wasn't aware until this thread.

I'm willing to bet the women stood up for themselves after being insulted and gave #### right back to these animals. Being Muslim these men were raised and taught to hate gay people and were stunned that women would have the audacity to speak back to them and responded with violence. They hate gay people and this was their opportunity.

Oh, I would love to be proven wrong.

I'm hoping there is going to be an investigation into this to look into why no one was arrested.

How do you know these animals were Muslim?

What a horrible act and they should be charged.

FYI a huge amount of Syrian refugees that came to Canada were brought in and sponsored by churches. There are a lot of Christian syrians in Canada and especially Calgary. My barber is Syrian and also has a huge cross tattoo on his arm. Without that tattoo you'd assume he was muslim because the way he looks.

Y'all know that Canadian journalists have a code of ethics they abide by, which includes quite deliberately not reporting on people's ethnicity, religion, race, etc. unless it's strictly relevant, right? And as a matter of course they're going to blur faces and not identify suspects in an ongoing police investigation, right?

There’s a whole thread dedicated to hating on Christians. So yeah, the mods have pretty much given on this stuff.

True, criticizing religion and criticizing individuals who use religion as an excuse for horrible things is the same as criticizing “middle eastern looking” people because they must be Muslim and all Muslims hate gay people.

I was thinking more of the Religions Doing Awful Things thread. Lots of hate and contempt expressed towards religion and religious believers in that thread, and elsewhere on this forum. They usually get lots of thanks, and little pushback.

The point is that if we want mods to sanction people for expressing hatred for groups of people, they’re going to be very busy.

See if you can spot the difference:

Criticizing a religion, what it teaches, and/or what the followers of that religion do in the name of it.

vs.

Concluding that a group of people must be Muslims and "animals" based on the sparse details of an attack and the colour of their skin.
