Really to fix Banff you need to charge an excessive amount for parking anywhere in town and a moderate amount at the big lot at the entrance.

Get cars out of the town proper unless people pay excessively. I’m general free transit subsidized by those who want to drive.

I think Mckenzie Towne is the city capital of making a tonne of noise for no reason, loud crappy cars, loud music, just obnoxious people in general.
What do you want me to do? I had a box of Fireworks, I've got to get rid of them at some point and I thought I picked an appropriate moment!!

I can't even remember the food. No BS it had to be among the top 3 worst dining experiences of my life.

I couldnt get out of that place fast enough.

And the worst part? Go and take a piss. Oh yeah. Try it. Every surface is covered in grease. Want to flush? Oh that handle is greased up baby! Wash your hands?

Good. Goddamned. Luck.

The handles are covered in grease. Even if you wash your hands the second you go to turn that tap off? You're covered in grease again. Door handle to get out of the bathroom? You bet its greasy.

There are people who have wrestled in tubs grease who were less greasy than the average customer at The Grizzly House!

You literally breathe it in.

Its fascinating.

It is actually very cool. They've got old-timey climbing equipment on display and they tell you about the early explorers, its really interesting.

"Thanks, I dont want a 'Canada key-chain' my my key-chain needs are met, nor do I require a fridge-magnet I'm fine, this is more interesting."

People sometimes forget that people came to Canada and saw..."What the hell is this? Lets climb them!"

It needs a massive underground parkade outside the town connected to a monorail.

Have you ever been to The Grizzly House?

It might be the single most disgusting establishment I have ever entered. I know of it's sordid history but even now, after being 'cleaned up' you can just feel the grease on every surface. Its palpable.
I haven’t been to the Grizzly House in decades.

Most people think ‘Grizzly’ relates to a bear. Not in this context.

Speaking with a co-worker today and she said that people were shooting off fireworks at Scotsman Hill before the fireworks. Why would you do that with all the people around you and right before a proper firework show.

Edit:

Also waking up to people in Airdrie complaining the fireworks in Airdrie were too good and cost too much taxpayer money . . .

I think Banff needs to expand. It's clear the amount of people coming in everyday over the summer is just too much for Banff to handle.

More gondolas. More places to eat. Maybe offer restaurants incentives to open in banff.

It just feels like we are just too scared to make it better and bigger because of some animals. Eff the animals, this is our land.

Let's make it bigger.

Ordered groceries online from Superstore, which is gross enough already... But then when reaching for an ingredient that's needed for dinner, it's unsealed and half eaten. Max gross. #### Superstore.

Yeah I’ve often thought, the only way you get into town with a car is if you are a resident or with a hotel reservation. Everyone else parks out close to the highway and shuttled into town.

You.wouldnt need to offer incentives to restaurants to open in Banff. If you lifted the hard cap on development and leased more land it would grow.

If you want to attract the big name fancy restaurants like Harveys/Swiss Chalet combo restaurants you'd have to offer something for them to bless that little town.

What weird takes on Banff.

There's still plenty of times when it's not busy.

There's still plenty of parking, even when it's "busy".

There's still parts of Banff that are very quiet, even when it's busy.

I mean don't get me wrong it's pretty cool setting and the building in parts look cool.

But unless you get a room in the original building, it is just a hotel & room.

It hasn't seen any significant upgrades since the 2015 reno, which was mostly just visuals and increasing the speed in the 'rapids' area after the first drop.
Thanks

Doesn't seem impressive to me

I want to get rid of cars so that Banff is more walkable. There will be a plebiscite in August on the pedestrian zone on Banff ave in the summers. Essentially the town council passed a motion to make it permanent and then a group petitioned to undo that decision so now there will be a plebiscite.

If it were me I’d further expand the car free zones and restrict external car access. It would make Bamff better

I could get behind this, but it would be nice if they had large parking lots on the edge of town. Pretty simple to do. Cut some tress and chuck down some gravel.

Maybe throw in a free shuttle to Downtown Banff for good measure
