Putting my tinfoil hat on for a minute, perhaps this is more of a call from ownership/upper management?? Here is a 1 year offer at a fair salary and prove to us you can work/play full time and then we can talk about longer term deals.

Ownership seems to have a very very hard time accepting that people who don't really work for them, shouldn't be getting paid. I think it bothers Calgary ownership more so than other teams with buyouts, contract firings for management/coaching and more. Same thing with trades and retention. I am not saying it never happen but I think the justification needs to be strong.

I am not saying mental illness is the same thing as a firing/trade but dollars went out and Oliver was not able to play very much in recent memory. Flames showed patience and perhaps would like it extended back with a let's see how it goes contract.

You have completely made this up, and nothing supports this at all.

How is Stamkos right? TB’s GM is doing just what he’s supposed to do - balance the budget. He did so by choosing not to keep Stamkos (and prioritizing Hedman and Guentzel).

Yeah, this really sounds like one of those deep fakes for 'comedy' that I've seen before.

Im pretty certain you have been duped by AI modified content. I may be wrong but sounds like you saw the same one I did and its for certain AI. Another example of the dangers of AI, but I digress

That Stamkos AI was so obvious that I am scared for our next generation if people are so easily duped.

legitimately flabbergasted that anyone could think it was real. Even if it sounded/looked authentic (it didnt), the things that were being said are enough to make you know it wasn't.

I don't think it's the next generation that's falling for AI trolls...

I don’t think it’s a generational thing. I think it’s a lack of critical thinking skills, which isn’t age related.

Extremely online Gen Z and Millennials are most susceptible to fake news.

Younger people and heavy internet users were more likely to fall for fake headlines, while older people and legacy media consumers succeeded in identifying real headlines, a two-minute quiz partially developed by ChatGPT found—a break from the idea that older people are more likely to fall victim to fake news.

I respect the hell out of Conroy when the rest of the league GM’s are handing out stupid contracts.

I’m sure they want to give Kylington a chance but they also want to be confident that the team they are putting together will be fully available. A one year contract so obviously makes sense and just silly that the player or his agent think they have earned more than that.

It’s not his fault he missed all this time but it’s also the situation he finds himself in. Make a few million bucks in one year and prove that you deserve a bigger contract over more time.

The education system is failing to teach critical thinking skills, so that’s going to factor in too.

It's more like Parents are too damn busy staring at their own phones to check out what their kid is staring at on their phone.

That too. But talk to any teacher and they’ll tell you that the gvt is not fostering critical thinking in the current curriculum, seemingly deliberately. Parents are failing to do their jobs as well.

48 hours later, is Kylington wondering if he made the right decision?

His agent had to know the best he was going to get is a "show me" deal, right?
