The kinda guys Calgary needs to look at are those who are currently struggling (especially with finding ice time) who could rebuild their value and then get flipped. Those that have little choice but to accept what they can get contract wise.

The only reason would be if the Flames overpay. Turning 33 Tarasenko who had 9 points in 22 games may not be such a hot ticket.

I wouldn't want to get into an offer sheet war with the Oilers. The Flames could easily one day find themselves in the same predicament if they are successful. Given the draft we just had and the amount of future draft capital we have, in a few years we could be looking at having a number of quality RFAs coming up for contracts at the same time when the Oilers are likely going to be the team going through a rebuild. You just know they would be vindictive as hell. I don't think either Broberg or Holloway are worth getting into that.

Could be a decent move for teams like Seattle or Nashville. Both are trying to improve now, dont realllly have the same risk of getting vindictive offer sheeted later on

He had 23 goals and 55 points in 76 games last year, close to a 60 point pace, and helped Florida win the Stanley Cup.

He'll easily catch on with a contender. He's at least hot enough to by-pass a rebuilding team.

Gotta think after how the flames handled the Kylington situation, that they would look to be a very favorable organization for someone like Laine who is coming back from his own struggles. Would love to see us buy low on him, just please dont give up a lot
