Welcome new GM. Here’s a mess we made that you have until October to clean up.

Kane will be gone before the beginning of the season. Or someone will be on LTIR.

Again, how are you moving Kane? Nobody wants him on that salary and he would have to waive his NMC. If I am Kane and I want to win a Cup why am I waiving to do the Oilers a favour?

I suspect they will qualify for the second window.
It will help them this year. After that, not so much, but they don't care. It's the final year of Cup or Bust.

amazingly with each signing the average forward age goes up 30.7 now. McDavid , turning 28 mid season will be the 12th oldest forward/youngest dressed many nights

Over/under on the Oilers giving Kane the Mike Smith treatment and just subletting him on LTIR even when healthy?
There’s no way they can fit these signings.

I guess if Lavoie takes them to arbitration after 7 NHL games and 0 points.

It's official, the Oilers are $2.4m over the cap and still haven't signed their RFAs.
It would appear that Holland was the only guy in the front office who could count.

Flames should offer sheet Holloway, no joke
$4.5m AAV, would only cost a second-round pick

Is their plane to package Holloway to offload Kane or something? This is so dumb
I'd totally offer sheet him

We’re well aware. We can consider the future.
Their options are now somehow trading: Nuge, Kane, Ceci or Kulak and depending on who, replacing them cheaper. They also probably have to move Ryan just for the roster spot to keep Holloway.
