Oh, my.

And some people thought the Oilers weren't going to lose depth this summer.

In the last couple of years, Stecher has gone from L.A. to Arizona to Calgary to Arizona to Edmonton.

I wonder how long it will be before he ends up in Arizona again.

Does anyone in the organization realize that scoring goals hasn’t been their issue? They are so forward heavy and have not improved on defense.

They're still trying to recreate the 1980s Oilers. Scoring goals is the only issue.

Their 2nd powerplay unit rarely ever sees the ice so there’s even less value adding guys like Skinner and Arvidsson while ignoring the defense group.

This. Guys like Skinner and Arvidsson can only be so beneficial to a team when they get the last 15 seconds of a powerplay. These guys have never been good “depth” scorers… only decent top six forwards with first unit powerplay time.

How many goals does Skinner score with no PP time?

No question these two signings are improvements up front, regardless of the roles they play.
Oilers are definitely worse defensively, both from forward position and on the back end.
It is indeed back to the 80's

545K left to sign Holloway and Broberg. Offer sheet whichever one you want Conroy.

These are the signings I was not looking forward to.

Skinner and Arvidsson taking short term below market deals in EDM for one reason and one reason only. Connor McDavid.

We still have to fade two more years of this #### and hope he doesn't sign another contract there.

They improved last season defensively and said nope. Back to being a tire fire.

Crysaddle can’t carry his own line so they will just blow it up and go back to being a 1 line team.

So what? The Oilers' roster is full of obvious holes, and these two guys fill precisely none of them.

Their roster would have even more holes if these morons wouldn't sign below market value contracts to go there. They are in cap hell and ####face #1 and ####face #2 just helped them out because they see a legit shot at maybe winning a cup....because McDingle nuts can power a leaky boat a long fricken way, as we just saw.

I'd like their roster to have as many holes as possible so that they don't even come close to winning a cup.

That's what haha

I do not think that Skinner and Arviddson fix the holes they have in their lineup. Time to send up some offer sheets, a shame the Flames don’t have their third round pick.

They add scoring to an already potent offense.

Hopefully not enough to cover up the obvious deficiencies on D and in net.

The point was, it's not something they should have been able to do given their cap situation.

Appearances have to be kept up for Driasital and McDavid that they are getting better or reloading to keep them happy. Bowman will reiterate that and it will be a love in for the summer.

July 1 is the easiest way to show that to them.

Skinner in particular knows that he can be flipped at the deadline, so no risk for him to check out the tire fire first hand.

That said, I think most Oilers knew they were fortunate to get by Vancouver, and Dallas turned into a pumpkin, and getting that sort of self destruction from opponents, nevermind Florida letting them back in the SC, is a pretty rare occurrence.

They had the easiest run to the Cup in NHL history and literally every team in the West is improved. Look what Nashville did, the Oilers as they stand now do not get past the Preds for sure.

Oilers are paper tigers, complete sham.
