Nice low signing to flip at TDL.

Everyone already said what I was going to, which is that the guy is going to wind up on Dallas's 3rd line after the trade deadline at 50% retained for a 2nd rounder and a B prospect. Which, hey, good business.

Lol at anyone complaining at these types of deals. What kind of signings are you expecting?

Absolutely phenomenal signing, perfect use of the cap, and good TDL asset (traded for a 2nd + 4th a few months ago).

Excellent work, Conroy

Conroy gets it, some posters dont.

Posters didnt like the Tanev or Markstrom deals, they were thrilled to get assets from players aquired for free though

Yup.

I don't like this player, never have - but I can still sit back and be happy that we got him to a reasonable, 1-year deal that makes him a prime candidate to be turned into something at the deadline.

This is what rebuilding looks like.

He’ll put out an effort for a contract next year and can be flipped for a pick if necessary. Free pick!

He flaked and floated and returned a 2nd a 4th and the deadline last year. That's what we're looking for. Wake up.

So if he floats and sucks, he helps us draft higher.
If he plays well, he's flipped for assets.

Absolutely zero risk signing.

It's Manthas GAF meter that sucks. PLD probably learned from him lol.

But am when Mantha is on and engaged in the play, he can be nast SoB to play against. Jekyll/Hyde player. Perfect for the rebuild.

Plus, he'll be well-rested because he's so lazy.

Exactly, he's scary when he's on. Maybe he'll win over the fans here, who knows?

Sometimes players like this get paid and then they disappear. He has reason to work his butt off now if he wants to get another big contract

Trading him at the deadline if he is having a good year could be a great return for Conroy. 50% retained is $1.75 mil. Any team can squeeze that in

People talking about these signings like they are Brouwer or Neal. It's a one year contract, they need to hit the cap floor. Flip him for a pick or two at the deadline. Great use of cap by Conroy here.

He sounds like he'd be a great player to put on the wing if they're planning on trying Pospisil out at centre.

Mantha said he's been training with Pelts and Huberdeau the last couple of years. Says this is a prove it contract and he s excited to prove himself.

If we get even a 75 percent engaged Mantha , he's gonna be great for the Flames.

I should stop based off of my inability to type lol. And yes, I'll give him time. I'm just excited by his smart moves. He has a clear direction.
