Great signing. Can flip at 2026 deadline for more draft picks!

Considering his first contract was an AHL-only deal, I wouldn't be surprised if Conroy played a big part in signing him then.

I think this kid is entertaining. He also is an incredibly hard worker on every shift, and doesn't really hurt you defensively. It is a little ball of hate out there with a constant smile on his face. I have always loved this kid. Remember when he buckled Kassian?
These hard-working types are also great to show the kids the way. Conroy speaks about being a team that competes - you need vets that compete. I am not very high on Mantha because of his regular 0-compete, but he is fine for a deadline flip. Conroy isn't trying to build a winner right now (and he obviously wouldn't be able to right now anyway), but he wants to have a culture where guys go out and compete. It isn't about being competitive in the standings, it is about competing on the ice night after night even through losses, so that you when you start to insert the high-skilled players from the core, that's the expectations that will be placed on them by the rest of the team.

I believe in the Jays.
So the lines are what... presumably...
Huberdeau-Zary-Kuzmenko
Mantha-Kadri-Sharangovich
Pelletier-Backlund-Coleman
Lomberg-Pospicle-Klapka
?
Edit: with Rooney eating popcorn in the press box and Coronato leading the Wranglers in scoring.

The whole team has to protect each other, not one guy. And with Lomberg in the lineup you won't have room for Pelletier. Only so many roster spots.
Huberdeau-Sharangovich-Mantha
Zary-Kadri-Pospisil
Coleman-Backlund-Coronato
Lomberg-Rooney-Duehr
Kuzmenko, Hunt

I'm kind of surprised he only got $2 million. No problem with that here.

Love it.
Thought the Flames really needed a gritty Hathaway type, physical human missile.
Lomberg fits the bill on cap and term. Welcome home!

If Pelletier can't beat out Duehr or Hunt, that's on him.

People act like no one ever gets hurt
Plus competition is good
And the extra 1 million over a rookie / minimum contract player is irrelevant for the Flames

Taking a while to get to 5000
Duehr is not going to be on the roster, barring injury I suppose

Kuzmenko will play with Huberdeau and Sharangovich.
Mantha will play with Backlund and hopefully learn something, or else on the 4th line. Coronato has to prove himself yet.
Dueher and Hunt are black aces. So is Lomberg if needed.

When you have to add Duehr and Hunt to the roster to make the argument...

He is not worth more than 2M
If anything it’s a slight overpayment
